God’s Word The KJV Bible
|
Additional Note – added after the Main Document was completed: |
The detailed documentation on this web-page clearly shows that the KJV Bible is the one that God wishes us to use. |
|
However, it became apparent that there is one other verse which is so powerful that it can be singled out to show how the Seventh-day Adventist message / beliefs can easily be lost in many translations. |
|
Hebrews 9:12 – KJV Bible reads: |
Neither by the blood of goats and calves, but by his own blood he entered in once into the holy place, having obtained eternal redemption for us. |
|
Undisputedly, as Seventh-day Adventists we know that, following His ascension to heaven, Jesus entered into the Holy Place; God’s Word and S.O.P. confirm this beyond all doubt. |
|
So why do many of us put down God’s Word [the KJV Bible] and pick up man’s word? |
AMP, AMPC, CSB, CEB, CJB, CEV, DARBY, DLNT, ERV, EHV, ESV, ESVUK, EXB, GW, GNT, HCSB, ICB, ISV, PHILLIPS, LEB, TLB, MEV, MOUNCE, NOG, NABRE, NCV, NET, NIRV, NIV, NIVUK, NKJV, NLV, NLT, OJB, TPT, VOICE & WE |
|
Do you not know that ALL of the above translations [and probably others] have erred with this verse? |
|
They cite [or imply] that Jesus entered the Most Holy Place – if so, Daniel 8:14 losses its meaning and 1844 becomes a non-event. Consequently these unique Seventh-day Adventist beliefs just evaporate. |
By the denial of 1844, the Cleansing of the Sanctuary and the Investigative Judgement, the SDA movement is reduced to just another daughter of Babylon – exactly what Satan wants. |
|
Knowing that we have just a short time before Jesus returns we must, as a church and individually, strive to become totally obedient – we need to depart from the NKJV [which has been chosen by the GC for it’s Church Manual and Sabbath School Lessons]; trash those other modern [post 1930] translations and study God’s Word – the KJV Bible. |
|
That additional word “Most” – what will God do? |
For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book: |
And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and [from] the things which are written in this book. |
|
To the law and to the testimony: if they speak not according to this word, [it is] because [there is] no light in them. |
An important part of the Testimony of Jesus relates to 1844, the Cleansing of the Sanctuary and the Investigative Judgement. We must ensure that we uphold these fundamental truths and reject books having “no light”. |
|
What will you now do? |
If the light has shone from the word of God, if the message has been presented to men, as it was to Pharaoh, and they refuse to heed that message, if they reject the light, they refuse to obey God, and cannot be saved in their disobedience [The Review and Herald – January 5, 1886]. |
|
As Seventh-day Adventists living just before Jesus returns, the complete life-style that we live, the food that we eat, including the spiritual food that we read from the Word of God are all vital to our future life with Him. |
|
Brother and Sister in Christ, we have to ensure that we are not found wanting in these respects. |

Research which Proves that the King James Version Bible IS God’s Word and that it IS the version He wishes us to use. |
AND |
Research which Proves that the New King James Version bible is man’s word and that [1] it violates the fundamental beliefs of the Seventh Day Church [2] it should not be used by the Seventh Day Church. |
This research shows that, as the NKJV does NOT fulfil God’s Word, by definition, all other modern versions are also corrupt. |
|
This research presentation includes the follow: |
|
Section 2: |
A powerful S.D.A. Church Worship service which includes a Sermon presentation which may be used by both Pastors and Lay Preachers [of all denominations]. But first, please pray for the Holy Spirit to guide you to an understanding of God’s Truth. You should allow between 2-4 hours to study Section Nos. 2 & 3. [11 A4 pages as a print-out] |
It covers Gematria – a subject rarely proclaimed from the pulpit beyond the obvious numbers of 1, 3, 7 and 666, 144,000, etc.. |
This webpage lists numbers and their meaning: http://www.godswordexplained.com/?page_id=508 |
This webpage gives information about Gematria: http://www.godswordexplained.com/?page_id=363 |
This webpage calculates for you the number of a word or phrase: http://www.gematrix.org/ |
|
Section 3: |
A detailed [but not every one] account of the significant word changes that have made within the NKJV bible. This document takes each KJV verse, then shows the NKJV verse, and for the majority of verses, then gives a Comment as to it’s error. |
It is a though self explanatory document which can be given as a hand out to each member of the church hierarchy. [19 pages] |
Alternatively, together with all the other Sections, it can be circulated by email as a Spreadsheet attachment or by reference to this webpage. |
|
Section 4: |
A quick reference index for all verses covered by Section 3, which can be retained by all for subsequent use. |
By definition, as the NKJV does not fulfil God’s Word, then ALL other modern versions will, even more so, fall short. |
Therefore, this reference list can be kept as a prompt that something is wrong whenever a listed verse is quoted from anything other than the KJV Bible, |
|
Section 5: |
Reading Level for various versions of the Bible – output from a report which shows that God scores better than man! |
Note also the progressive build-up of understanding from Genesis to Revelation. |
|
Section 6: |
The NKJV logo. It is noted that a 2015 printed NKJV no longer had this logo. [Perhaps the 2014 bad press the printers got made them change?] |
|
Section 7: |
The pure Cambridge Edition [c.1900] of the KJV Bible corrected 12 texts; for your review / update these are given in this Section. |

During the course of my research on this subject I have visited well over a hundred different web pages. From these I have gathered ideas and copied extracts which attracted my attention. I have noticed that many of these were not of original work; a percentage of these being used by permission from other parties. As I have used a number of these, I now give my appreciation to the authors of such work. Thank you. In the advancement of knowledge, I do not believe that the wheel needs to be re-invented each time. We have a common goal and that is, through the Holy Spirit, to fight Satan’s lies and deceptions by a clear “it is written in the book” reply. |
|
To be effective in counteracting the New King James Version Bible, it is obvious that one must quote extracts from this book which is subject, by the Publishers to copyright. So, merely to conform to their requirement and guard against the possibility of any legal comeback, this statement is now given: |

Lastly, I am grateful for being given the opportunity to do this research and for the Holy Spirit’s guidance and promptings in undertaking it so that His work can be furthered. Let all the praise be given to God. |

Reading |
John 1:1 cites “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.” |
God, having repeatedly told His people throughout the Old Testament, to obey Him – His Word – now gives His final warning to mankind. |
Turn with me to Revelation 22:18-19. |
|
Sermon / Message |
Break Thou the Bread of Life – What a wonderful hymn. |
|
“I am the Bread of Life” (John 6:35) is one of the seven “I Am” statements of Jesus. |
Jesus used the same phrase “I AM” in seven declarations about Himself. |
In all seven, He combines I AM with tremendous metaphors which express His saving relationship towards the world. |
All seven “I Am” statements appear in the Gospel of John. |
|
The Bread of Life is the spiritual food needed by man. Without the Bread of Life man cannot live spiritually. |
Just as physically man needs to eat in order to live, the Bread of Life gives nourishment for the soul. |
Unless one eats from the Bread of Life he faces eternal death. |
|
Those last words in our last hymn: “Heeding Thy Holy Word I win the strife.“ Thy Holy Word – This is our focus for today. |
|
Deuteronomy 30:14 But the word [is] very nigh unto thee, in thy mouth, and in thy heart, that thou mayest do it. |
Psalms 119:11 Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee. |
Matthew 13:19 When any one heareth the word of the kingdom, and understandeth [it] not, then cometh the wicked [one], and catcheth away that which was sown in his heart. This is he which received seed by the way side. |
|
Brothers and Sisters, we are in the last days of earth’s history and we have to be very careful about what we digest as our spiritual food. |
Since October 22nd 1997, the 6,000 year period has ended. |
God in mercy has extended the time of probation. |
And Satan has laid most of his traps to catch God’s remaining people. |
|
1 Corinthians 15:33 Be not deceived: evil communications corrupt good manners. |
1 Corinthians 15:34 Awake to righteousness, and sin not; for some have not the knowledge of God: I speak [this] to your shame. |
|
We must ensure that our spiritual food is of the highest quality – the pure Bread of Life from Jesus and not the corrupted spiritual food from man; which is of Satan. |
|
We need to ask some questions: Does God preserve that Word which He originally inspired? And if so, to what extent? Is it merely the concepts and basic message that is kept intact?; or does preservation, as inspiration, extend to the words themselves? |
|
That the Bible declares both the fact and extent of it’s preservation is made abundantly clear in the following: |
“The words of the LORD are pure words: as silver tried in a furnace of earth, purified seven times. Thou shalt keep them, 0 LORD; thou shalt preserve them from this generation for ever” (Psalm 12:6, 7). |
“Thy word is very pure: therefore thy servant loveth it” (Psalm 119:140). |
“Every word of God is pure” (Proverbs 30:5). |
“The grass withereth, the flower fadeth: but the word of our God shall stand for ever” (Isaiah 40:8). |
“So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it” (Isaiah 55:11). |
“Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away” (Matthew 24:35). |
|
We have a strange anomaly today; Christians claim to believe what the Bible says about it’s own inspiration but virtually ignore the equally direct statements concerning preservation. |
To say that you believe in the full inspiration of Scripture while at the same time accepting the textual theories inherent in the modern versions, is about as incongruous as taking Genesis chapter one literally while holding to the theories of Darwin. |
Consider 4 points: |
|
1. The questioning of the Bible’s preservation is the starting point of all other kinds of apostasy. |
Satan in Genesis 3 did not begin his attack by questioning whether there was a God, or whether God created, or whether the doctrine of the Godhead [Trinity] is true. |
Nor did it begin with the question of whether God’s Word was inspired in the originals. |
|
So, what are the downward steps offered by Satan? |
Confusion, which steps downwards to Doubt, and then downwards to Disobedience, and finally to the lowest step of Rebellion. |
|
Apostasy began when Satan asked Eve, “Yea hath God said”? |
“Eve, are you certain that you presently have a full recollection of what God said”? |
When doubt was given a bridgehead at this point, the other defences soon fell. |
|
The same principle applies today: Has God preserved His word and kept intact His original word of inspiration?, or has He not? |
It is a fact, that the one common denominator in all the varied errors, deviations, and heresies is that their advocates will first criticize the standard received edition or translation of Scripture. |
|
2. Inspiration in the originals will not only ensure preservation in certain key translations, but also animation. |
It is this quality which enables a translation to convict the sinner and bring manifold grace to the believer (Hebrews 4:12; Acts 2:27; Isaiah 55:11; Psalm 119:9,11,130; Romans 10:17). |
It is this which ensures that a translation will become an enduring standard among the humble people of God. |
The Old Latin, Syriac Peshitta, Armenian, Georgian, Gothic, Slavonic, Luther, Tyndale, Geneva and King James are examples of versions which in a sweetly natural way worked their way into the hearts of millions of God’s people. |
High pressured promotion was not needed. Contrast this with the case for the Constantine’s Bible, the Latin Vulgate or the New International Version. |
|
Thus, when a translation is being prepared in accordance with the will of God, the life-giving breath of God will be felt in that translation. |
Modern versions claim to be the “results of the most recent scholarship,” but there is no life in them; either they are revised or fall flat after a few years. |
Ponder the fate of the once very popular The Living Bible! |
|
God’s work of preservation does more than keep the Bible from error in its transmission and translation, it gives to the Bible an enduring freshness. |
Therefore, a translation can be as much the Sword of the Spirit as the original autographs. |
When God is active in the work of a translation (and is there any reason to think that He would not be), the manifold blessings of the once delivered work of inspiration are transmitted to that translation. |
The standard KJV Bible translation is not a valley of dry bones, it has breath! – the Breath of God. |
To test this fact, read John 14 in the New International Version and then in the Authorized Version. |
|
“Guiding into all truth” is not secondary inspiration. |
It does, however, enable a translation upon which God’s favour rests, to be a completely accurate vehicle of His “once given” original work of inspiration. |
|
3. It is only God who can make a translation or version a true Standard. |
a. Such a Standard will endure the test of time, receive universal acceptance, and result in widespread conversion. |
b. Such a Standard will spawn and encourage the publication of vast amounts of supplemental literature: commentaries, concordances, theological works, study helps of all kinds. |
c. Such a Standard will evoke the wrath of Satan. |
And since its inception, the King James Version has been called “the paper pope of the Protestants!” |
|
That the Authorized Version is such a Standard, and the only Standard in the English language for nearly 400 years, argues convincingly, that it is God’s preserved word in that language. |
In response to God’s promises of preservation, and the abundant evidence of the same, the believer may be fully confident, that the AV has no blemishes, and is without proven error. |
There are places that may need explanation, and it is right for the teacher, within reasonable limits to amplify, elucidate and expound the English as well as the underlying text. |
But this must not be done in such a way as to imply to the listener that errors exist. |
For example, “This word means…” is acceptable; but “A better rendering would be…” is not. |
Before being too concerned about the “force of the Greek or Hebrew,” the reader should be certain, that he has a grasp on “the force of the English!” |
|
Finally, 4. Will There Be Another Standard Bible? |
Since January 2016, there has been another contender on the starting block. |
|
The King James Version 2016 Edition (KJV 2016). The KJV 2016 is based upon the Hebrew Masoretic Text and Greek Textus Receptus with respect to the King James Version. |
The New Testament is complete, but the Old Testament remains unfinished, and with funding and translator problems, it probably will remain unfinished. |
Whenever mankind gives the motivation for the Bible it will perish; when God directs then His Word is lasting. |
|
As Seventh-Day Adventists, we must be very careful to make intelligent and informed decisions about which translation of the Bible we choose to read. |
|
It is not impossible that in the providence of God another universally accepted standard translation could be produced. |
However, given the lateness of the hour, the lack of spiritual scholarship, and the fact that our language no longer has the depth and vitality it once had, this seems most unlikely. |
|
Also, is there time left for God’s people to forget the KJV quotes and learn instead another translation? |
Just like Jesus, we must be able to quote Scripture when confronted with a perverted God’s Word. |
|
Now some questions: |
Did God decide that the 1611 Authorized Version, that He had blessed for 371 years up to 1982, just didn’t work any more? |
If so, doesn’t this undermine His authority? Surely He knew the end from the beginning? |
When did the best-selling, most read Bible of all time, become insufficient to meet the needs of His people? |
Do you believe that just because someone publishes a book with the title “Bible” on it that it has to be “God’s will”? |
Likewise, just because some academic, scholarly Christian, contracts his translation services to a businessman, does it automatically follow that it’s “God’s will” just because he’s agreed to work on a book titled “Bible”? |
|
There have been well over 100 English Bible versions published in the last hundred years. |
Do you think the Lord was behind them all? |
Even if their publishers and committee members did, that doesn’t make it so. |
|
Consider this… |
If the Lord chooses the ©1982 NKJV then he would be undermining the integrity of the KJV that he established now over 400 years ago. |
|
Therefore, all indications point to the KJV as the Bible God would have His people use in these last days before the Second Coming of Christ. |
God has preserved in the King James Version His original work of inspiration. |
The flower has not faded! |
The Sword is as sharp as in the day it was first whetted! |
|
But can we say categorically that God has chosen the KJV Bible – I believe that we can and I will now prove this to you. |
|
In the very first verse of the Bible, God sets the tone for Gematria that continues richly throughout both the Hebrew Old Testament and Greek New Testament. |
Gematria, fundamentally means; letters, or words or a phase, which are converted into numbers, which then have meaning. |
By example consider Genesis 1:1, “In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.” This has 10 words. |
In Gematria, the number 10 means Testimony – Law and Responsibility – Ordinal Perfection / Completion – God’s Law. |
In Hebrew, this verse has seven words and 28 (7 × 4) letters. The number seven is repeated throughout the Bible as a number of perfection and completeness. |
For instance, there are seven feasts of Israel, seven good years and seven famine years interpreted in Pharaoh’s dreams, seven years of service for each of Jacob’s wives, seven lamps of the Menorah, seven trumpets, seven days’ marching around Jericho, seven washings in the Jordan for Naaman, seven churches, seven candlesticks, seven seals, seven horns, seven eyes, seven stars, seven thunders, seven crowns, seven sprinklings of blood before the veil, and seven Spirits of God. |
|
About one in five Bible scriptures contains a number. For example we find 6 days of work, 8 people in the ark, 10 commandments, 12 tribes of Israel, 12 disciples, 30 pieces of silver, 40 days in the wilderness, 70 prophetic weeks in Daniel, 153 fish in the net, 144,000 on Mount Zion, and 666 – the number of the beast. |
These are not just random numbers; they have a deep significance. They underscore the fact that the Bible is God-inspired! |
|
Biblical numbers are highly symbolic and convey a concept e.g. 7 denotes completion and 666 implies the mark / number of the beast. In fact, in Revelation 13:18, we are told “Let him that hath understanding count the number of the beast”; this means that we are to calculate or understand the number of the beast. |
Our Creator God communicates to us by both language and numbers. When a number occurs it usually underscores, clarifies or enhances the meaning of the text. |
|
The Hebrew and Greek alphabets use letters to represent numbers e.g. the Hebrews wrote “gimel” for 3 and the Greeks wrote “kappa” for 20. |
Clearly, summing all the letter values in a word gives a numerical value for the word; this has significance. |
Moreover, different words with the same numeric value have a common symbolic meaning; they enhance the overall meaning when taken together. |
Gematria is the technique of using the numeric values of Hebrew and Greek letters to find a hidden or symbolic meaning to the corresponding word. |
It is a God inspired system for us to interpret the Scriptures in order to seek out their hidden meaning. |
Naturally, like everything else it has been perverted, and is said to have its roots in the medieval Kabbalistic system of Gematria; therefore it has been adopted by both Christians and the occult – Christians maintaining that Gematria has real meaning in Scripture whilst others warn of its mystical roots. |
|
You will probably say, “But I don’t know the Hebrew and Greek languages” – God knows that, and with His Omni powers, has looked down through time and seen that man would use the language of English. |
It would not have a 22 lettered alphabet like the Hebrew language, nor 24 [which the English language once had] but 26 letters. |
Furthermore, various letters would change – our letter j has a history to tell; for copyists, there would be confusion with the u and v, and 2 v’s together would become a w – probably named by incorrect copying of uu [double u]. |
|
God engineered Gematria to make sense to His people for all relevant time periods, and across at least 3 languages, whilst always convening His message to His people – and, praise God, one of those languages was English – the language that is most spoken today and the one in which the Spirit of Prophecy has been written. |
|
Firstly, when interpreting Biblical numbers, a word of warning. |
We must be careful when assigning a symbolic meaning to a number in the Bible, and refrain from doing so, unless there is strong Scriptural backing. |
Having said that, the meaning of some numbers is widely accepted. |
Let’s examine the symbolic meaning of some of these numbers. |
Let us highlight a least one Bible verse [for the sake of time] that appears to attach symbolism to the number. |
|
“I and the Father are ONE” (John 10.30). |
1 means Unity (Lord) – (New) Beginning(s) – Singleness – No Other(s) – Monotheism – Supremacy – The Uniqueness of God – Unity for Humans |
|
“No one can serve TWO masters” (Matthew 6.24). |
2 means Union – Division / Divide (break) – Separation – Witnessing – A Difference – Double Portion – Duality – Contrary (light/dark, good/evil) or Complimentary (spiritual/material; divine/human) |
|
“Destroy this temple and in THREE days I will raise it up” (John 2.19). |
3 means Godhead(3 Powers) – Divine Completeness / Perfection / Holiness – Resurrection – Holy Spirit – Completion of Divine Will – Wholeness / Inner Sanctity – Binding (Spirit of God) |
|
There are FOUR points of the compass, FOUR seasons, FOUR primitive elements (earth, air, fire and water), FOUR living creatures around God’s throne (Revelation 4:6). |
The angels will gather the elect “from the FOUR winds” (Matthew 24.31). |
There are FOUR world kingdoms in Daniel’s vision of the statue (Daniel 2.31-35). |
Since FOUR is not a prime number (it can be factorised) it also symbolises weakness. The FOUR world kingdoms are man centred and weak, to be followed by a fifth kingdom – Christ’s. |
4 means God’s Absolute Control over His Creation & World / Earth (directions, winds, empires) – Universal Truth – Creative Works including All Things Terrestrial – Message (hear) |
|
So we can accept this meaning of numbers – because it was given to us by God. |
|
What a pity that God’s chosen church – The Seventh-Day Adventist Church – has neglected to adopt God’s blessings that are available through Gematria. They have left this work to the Jews and various members within the Sunday worshipping churches to publicize and proclaim these revelations to the world. |
|
Psalm 19:1-7 |
The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament showeth his handiwork. |
Day unto day uttereth speech, and night unto night showeth knowledge. |
[There is] no speech nor language, [where] their voice is not heard. |
Their line is gone out through all the earth, and their words to the end of the world. In them hath he set a tabernacle for the sun, |
Which [is] as a bridegroom coming out of his chamber, [and] rejoiceth as a strong man to run a race. |
His going forth [is] from the end of the heaven, and his circuit unto the ends of it: and there is nothing hid from the heat thereof. |
The law of the LORD [is] perfect, converting the soul: the testimony of the LORD [is] sure, making wise the simple. |
|
In these 7 verses – there is that perfect number 7 again – we have a wonderful account of God revealing to mankind every day His handiwork. |
From Creation, to Jesus Christ on earth, to Jesus destroying Satan, and then to Him setting up an eternal kingdom, God’s glory and His righteousness is declared in the heavens. |
|
With a perfect Law, and the soul converted by understanding this revelation, we see that each simple [that means open-minded] person will become wise. |
|
Psalm 50:6 And the heavens shall declare his righteousness: for God [is] judge himself. Selah. |
Psalm 97:6 The heavens declare his righteousness, and all the people see his glory. |
|
What a pity that God’s chosen church – The Seventh-Day Adventist Church – has neglected to adopt God’s blessings that are available through an understanding of the night sky on every single day. They have left this work to a few heathen inhabitants of this planet called Earth, to publicize and proclaim these revelations to the world. |
And in the church’s neglect, Satan has stolen the show. Astrology is now all about horoscopes, purporting to explain aspects of a person’s personality and predicting future events in their life. All this being based upon the positions, of the sun, moon, and other celestial objects at the time of their birth. As for astronomy, it is all about evolution, the big bang and black holes, etc.. What an opportunity to witness for God. |
|
Now back to an understanding of Gematria. |
|
In Simple English Gematria, the letter A has the number 1; the letter B has the number 2 and the letter Z has the number 26. |
This is very complicated! This is rocket science technology! God is expecting us, to be educated enough, to put 26 letters into a well known and recognised order, and to be able to know and to count up our numbers. Just like His Word, which can be understood by a 6 year old, He has made it exceptional easy and, with internet and computer technology, even given us websites which analyse this for us – and they also give us a list of other words that equate to the same numerical value. All the work is done for you – it’s as easy as A, B, C. |
|
Now, what about God’s Word? |
|
John 1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. |
So the Word was God, and therefore the Word still is God, and it will remain God – because they are inseparable. |
When you calculate “The Word is God” then it equates to 162. |
In Gematria, 162 means Father’s Possession. How appropriate! |
|
English Bible History |
For time purposes the details covering this section must be left out. |
So we come to the Summary: |
|
1. 1526 AD: William Tyndale’s New Testament Bible – The First New Testament printed in the English Language. |
2. Myles Coverdale’s Bible |
3. Matthew’s Bible |
4. The “Great” Bible |
5. The Geneva Bible |
6. The Bishops’ Bible |
7. 1611 AD: The Holy Bible, then called the King James Bible and today the KJV Bible. |
|
So by inclusive reckoning, we have an 86 year duration, from 1526 to 1611, to completely cover the time frame, for these 7 Bibles. |
|
In Gematria, 86 means Nations Worship God. |
|
So God is saying, although hidden by Rome and the Catholic church and polluted by the Latin language, “I have protected, as promised, My version of The Word – as previous given to you – and now, from 1611 onwards, it is available to everyone for the Nations to Worship God.” What a message! |
|
Now consider the first letter to each of these first six Bibles. |
|
In Simple English Gematria, “TCMGGB” adds up to 52, which means Gospel Worker. |
Other words that add up to 52 are declared, door, earth, flood, heart, hello, Pesach [which is the Jewish passover festival], Red Sea, Seth, Sinai, six [we will come back to that] and speak. They are all relevant words. |
Six, in Gematria, means Man (conscience, flesh) – His Weakness – Manifestation of Sin – Evil – Satan (& his influences) – Something Incomplete or Imperfect. Also: Lacking (i.e. not yet 7), Human wisdom, efforts and labour (Luke 13:14). |
|
These six Bibles where deemed by God to be incomplete or imperfect; they were lacking in spiritual perfection. |
|
In Gematria, 7 means Spiritual Completeness / Perfection – Sanctification – Resurrection – Covenant – Holy Spirit – Finished – Totality – God’s Seal – The End (sword). |
|
Work on the King James Version Bible started in 1604; seven years before it’s publication in 1611. |
|
In Simple English Gematria: |
“Seventh” adds up to 93 which means Might of God. |
“Bible” adds up to 30 which means Adoption – Blood of Christ – Blood (children) – Dedication – Consecration – Maturity for Ministry. |
“Seventh Bible” adds up to 123 which means Powers of the Godhead – God the Father, Son and Holy Spirit – Devoted to the Lord |
“The Holy Bible” also adds up to 123 which means Powers of the Godhead – God the Father, Son and Holy Spirit – Devoted to the Lord |
“King James Version” adds up to 191 which means Awe of God. |
“A King James Version Bible” adds up to 222 which means, ….. “God’s Word”. |
|
Now consider the publication year date of 1611: |
In Simple English Gematria: |
“One six one one” adds up to 154 which means God is Judge. |
“Sixteen eleven” adds up to 159 which means Faithful Church. |
“One thousand six hundred and eleven” adds up to 344 which means Religious Leaders. |
|
By Gematria, in ALL of the above, God is endorsing that His Word is as written for us in the KJV [AV] Bible. |
What were those words in Malachi 3:6? |
For I [am] the LORD, I change not; [therefore ye sons of Jacob are not consumed.] |
What were those words in 2 Timothy 3:16-17? |
All scripture [is] given by inspiration of God, and [is] profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works. |
|
So God inspired those people who were caught up in translating and agreeing with the wording of the KJV, and then those who went on to publish this Bible. And because He is reliable and consistent, we can expect His Word to change not. |
|
But there’s more – there’s always more with God – even in Heaven His people will continue to learn, for eternity. |
|
Let’s look at the Various Editions of the 1611 KJV or AV Bible |
Again, for the sake of time, we must just look at the Summary: |
|
1. – 1611 First Edition – the “He” Bible |
Ruth 3:15, “and he went into the city.” The correct printing should have been, “and she went into the city.” |
2. – 1611 First Edition – the “She” Bible |
3. – 1613 Edition |
4. – 1629 Edition |
[The Wicked Bible, sometimes called Adulterous Bible or Sinners’ Bible, is the Bible published in 1631 by Robert Barker and Martin Lucas, the royal printers in London, which was meant to be a reprint of the King James Bible. |
The name is derived from a mistake made by the compositors: in the Ten Commandments (Exodus 20:14), the word “not” in the sentence “Thou shalt not commit adultery” was omitted, thus changing the sentence into “Thou shalt commit adultery”. |
This blunder was spread in a number of copies. About a year later, the publishers of the Wicked Bible were called to the Star Chamber and heavily fined and deprived of their printing license. |
The fact that this edition of the Bible contained such a flagrant mistake outraged King Charles I and George Abbot, the Archbishop of Canterbury. |
He certainly was under financial difficulties at this time, and later, he died in prison in 1645.] |
5. – 1638 Edition |
6. – 1769 Edition |
7. – c.1900 – The Pure Cambridge Edition of the KJV Bible – also known as the PCE Bible. |
|
So we have a Bible that fulfils the “seven purifications” doctrine of Psalm 12:6-7: |
|
The words of the LORD [are] pure words: [as] silver tried in a furnace of earth, purified seven times. |
Thou shalt keep them, O LORD, thou shalt preserve them from this generation for ever. |
|
The KJV Bible |
was the seventh in a series of Bibles to be produced after the printing press invention |
took 7 years to complete |
and, by it’s Editions, has been purified 7 times since it’s completion. |
|
In Gematria, 777 represents Powers of the Godhead / Perfection – Jesus Christ. |
How appropriate! – John 1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. |
|
But it is important to have the correct, perfect and final text of the King James Bible. Unfortunately, there are still correctors (e.g. publishers) who continue to print KJV Bibles without the c.1900 Pure Cambridge Edition updates; these KJV Bibles have 6 purifications but are found wanting as they lack the 7th. Now do you see why the KJV 2016 will not replace the KJV? |
|
Incidentally, Gematria for 8 means New Beginning / Birth – New Order / Creation – Circumcision of the Heart – Resurrection – Eternal Life – Holy Spirit – New Man (eyes) |
|
Therefore the final form of the King James Bible is the Pure Cambridge Edition (circa 1900). |
So how can we tell if our King James Bible fulfils the Pure Cambridge Edition? – We can tell by reviewing 12 texts, but will look at 2 for the sake of time: |
|
1. Joshua 19:2 should say “or Sheba” not “and Sheba”: |
3 People = Incorrect: And they had in their inheritance Beersheba, and Sheba, and Moladah, |
2 People = Correct: And they had in their inheritance Beersheba, or Sheba, and Moladah, |
|
2. Job 33:4 should say “Spirit of God” not “spirit of God”: |
The sSpirit of God hath made me, and the breath of the Almighty hath given me life. |
|
If you do have a non-final form of KJV Bible, you can easily make a note of the changes – to as far as I know only 12 changes occurred, and 6 of those relate to changing the “s” in Spirit to either an upper or lower case text. [Refer to Section 7] |
|
The Bible has been translated into many languages from the biblical languages of Hebrew, Aramaic and Greek. As of October 2017 the full Bible has been translated into 670 languages, the New Testament alone into 1,521 languages and Bible portions or stories into 1,121 other languages. Thus at least some portion of the Bible has been translated into 3,312 languages. |
|
Now, what about those other Bibles? Those other translations? |
|
How do you detect a fake Rembrandt painting? |
You diligently study the master; you detect the forgery by your knowledge of the genuine, the original, and by you knowing the characteristics of the painter. |
|
How do you detect a fake Bible? |
You diligently study God’s Word, you detect the forgery by your knowledge of God’s Word and by knowing the characteristics of the Creator. |
|
So, what about those other Bibles? You know, the ones that were inspired by man. How do they fair against God’s Gematria Code? |
|
First, the New King James Version Bible: |
|
In Simple English Gematria: |
NKJV adds up to 57 which means Depart the Faith. |
NKJV Bible adds up to 87 which means Saints Assembly. |
New King James Version Bible adds up to 263 which means Refugee in a Foreign Land. |
A New King James Version Bible adds up to 264 which means Souls in Great Distress. |
|
Unlike the KJV, which gave a strong clear message, the NKJV is inconsistent – it’s Gobbledegook. |
|
The first edition of the NKJV had no footnotes and the second edition had many footnotes. |
|
In Simple English Gematria, “Footnotes” adds up to 129 which means Disrespect the Father. |
|
It’s not doing very well. Do you know that the NKJV has already been replaced? |
Since 2016 it has been replaced by the MEV – the Modern English Version. |
|
In Simple English Gematria: |
MEV adds up to 40 which means Trials – Probation – Testing / Severe Test – Days of Jesus’ Temptation – Time of Proving – Closing in Victory / Judgement – A Very Long Time – Tribulation. |
MEV Bible adds up to 70 which means Elder(s) – Israel’s Captivity and Return. |
Modern English Version adds up to 245 which means Kills Prophets. |
Modern English Version Bible adds up to 275 which means Faults of King Covered. |
A Modern English Version Bible adds up to 276 which means Inheritance Re-Allocated to Favourites. |
|
Once again, there is no message, the MEV is also inconsistent – it’s again Gobbledegook. |
|
In fact, you can take any man-made / modern version, and the answers always remain the same – Gobbledegook. |
|
It’s no surprise, it’s not God’s Word but man’s – now back to the NKJV. |
|
The NKJV translation project was conceived by the Executive Editor of the NKJV, Arthur L. Farstad who was a conservative Baptist and a former editor at Thomas Nelson Publishers. It was inaugurated in 1975 with two meetings (Nashville and Chicago) of 130 biblical scholars, pastors, and theologians. |
The men who were invited – most were professors and Baptists, prepared the guidelines for the NKJV. In his autobiography he refers to: |
Sam Moore, who was president of Thomas Nelson – a publishing firm that began in West Bow, Edinburgh, Scotland in 1798 – who published this bible – and a quote by John Moore his son when 11 years old. |
“Daddy, you make so many bibles, why can’t you make a bible I can understand?” |
Sam Moore, was aware that his purchased company – Thomas Nelson Publishers – was in desperate need of a large cash injection. He remembered his son’s words and sent in motion this new translation. |
|
In 1982 a complete NKJV bible was published; it made a lot of money, and his company continued to print bibles, such as the Expanded Bible (EXB), the International Children’s Bible (ICB), New Century Version (NCV) and the Voice (VOICE), the Revised Standard Version (RSV) and the revision of the American Standard (rASV). |
And, together with devotionals and study bibles and non-religious books, they have published just about anything which makes money. They do not believe that the KJV is the inspired Word of God – they are quite happy with the corrupt Alexandrian text and the versions of Westcott and Hort, who believed in Darwin. Westcott and Hort held various contrary beliefs, and, in personal writing habits, are said to have written like Jesuits. |
|
Now a question: Would God, after saying that His Word will last forever, who said that He “change not”, after setting up and preserving the KJV Bible for 371 years, which through it’s age is without copyright restrictions, suddenly participate in producing a new bible translation, with a publisher’s copyright; and produce it by using a corrupt church, with corrupt people, to revise His Word, and then put an occult based symbol upon it’s cover? [Refer to the 19 pages of NKJV changes in Section 3 which also affect S.D.A.doctrine.] |
|
Another question: The Seventh Day Adventist Church, who God set up from 1844 and which was founded on 21 May 1863, what are they doing proclaiming the NKJV by adopting it into their Church Manual and Sabbath School Lesson Books? |
|
The publishers have proclaimed that the New King James Version Bible is a “transition Bible.” A transition to what? |
In the early 90s, Nelson Publishers came out with the KJV/NKJV Parallel Bible. |
Look at the back cover. It reads: |
“Nelson’s KJV/NKJV Parallel Bible with Center-Column References is … a great way to enjoy and compare the beauty and accuracy of both the enduring King James Version and the outstanding New King James Version without having two Bibles open.” |
And then says, |
“And this is the perfect transition Bible if you are thinking about moving from the classic King James to a modern translation.” |
|
The devil does not want God’s people reading the KJV – God’s Word – he doesn’t mind what bible you transit to – just as long as you stop reading God’s Word and start reading man’s word. |
|
It’s the tale of two cities – Antioch [which stood for truth] or Alexandria [which stood for error]; fuelled by Rome it’s probably a tale of three cities. |
|
A little leaven in one’s bible ‘version’ will eventually spiritually leaven the whole Christian. |
|
So we’re heading for a one world bible under a one world religion. |
And the only person upon the face of the earth, that has the “authority” to inaugurate or to “bless” that one world bible, is the Roman Catholic pope. |
|
To show you the stupidity of the NKJV, consider the copyright: |
Incidentally, those verses of God’s Word that they haven’t altered from the KJV, which God preserved from copyright, are now subject to copyright law – by Thomas Nelson. Inc.. |
So what does the copyright say? |
You may accurately quote or reprint without prior written permission from Thomas Nelson Publishers up to and including 1,000 verses providing it is less than 50% of a complete book of the Bible and providing it is less than 50% of the total work. |
Any use of the NKJV text must include a proper acknowledgement as follows: |
“Scripture taken from the New King James Version. Copyright © 1982 by Thomas Nelson, Inc. Used by permission. All rights reserved.” |
|
So we can accurately quote up to 6 verses from 2 John but we must always include the proper acknowledgement to Thomas Nelson, Inc.. Should you want to quote 7 verses, then you must also obtain prior written permission from Thomas Nelson Publishers. |
|
Do you recall that image in Daniel where you had to bow down to an authority that set itself up as God? Praise God that we can quote Scripture after Scripture from God’s Word – the KJV Bible – because there are no copyright restrictions! |
|
I referred to the NKJV having an occult based symbol upon it’s cover. |
Here it is [Show the print-out obtained from Section 6 – Logo]. |
|
Symbols are used throughout the occult. Harpers’ Encyclopedia of Mystical & Paranormal Experience (p.594) says, “Symbols are important to all esoteric teachings, for they contain secret wisdom accessible only to the initiated.” |
|
Thomas Nelson Publishers (publishers of the NKJV) claim, on the inside-cover, the symbol, “. . .is an ancient symbol for the Trinity.” But Acts 17:29, clearly FORBIDS such symbology: “Forasmuch then as we are the offspring of God, we ought NOT to think that the Godhead is like unto gold, or silver, or stone, GRAVEN BY ART and man’s device.” |
|
And why does The Aquarian Conspiracy, a key New Age “handbook”, bear a similar symbol? New Agers freely admit it represents three inter-woven “6”s or “666”. |
|
If the world is alarmed shouldn’t we be? As Seventh-Day Adventists and as ambassadors for Christ we should be equally or more alarmed when a logo like this appears upon a corrupt bible proclaimed to be the Word of God. |
|
Some might say we shouldn’t judge a book by it’s cover – alright then, let’s open it up. |
The New King James does indeed bear a “likeness” to the 1611 King James Bible, but, as you’ll soon see [from the next Section / the printed sheets that are to be circulated], there is something else, just like Genesis 3:1, coiled “underneath the cover” of the NKJV. |
|
Brother and Sister in Christ, don’t be fooled by Satan’s counterfeits, we need to know our Scriptures by diligently studying one Bible – the true God’s Word – The KJV Bible. That way, the Holy Spirit can best recall to our memory the complete truth for those vital moments when we are faced with our “Yea, hath God said”? |
|
Now for something quite different: |
|
As you journey through life you, quite frequently, come to crossroads in your decision making processes. |
As you plod along the dirt road to the crossroad, this time you see that the roads to the east and west of you are a concreted highway. |
There are many people travelling along on that highway. All seem to be carefree and many wear headphones, many have i-phones and i-pads and are constantly active upon these devices sending text messages or engaged in Facebook, Twitter, etc.. |
There are even some with counterfeit Bibles, proclaiming a corrupt message to a sinful world determined to stay in apostasy. Some appear to be always on holiday, others are playing sport and games, and all seem to be having a good time. Almost all are laughing and smiling – but then you see that this is only because their friends are smiling and their reactions are just skin deep. |
But you are lost and are seeking guidance. So you look at the crossroad sign and it says, to the east is a city called Sin and Death, but to the west is another place named Death through Sin. |
You realise that both directions of this highway eventually lead to nowhere and you would remain lost if you ventured down this path. |
But you are currently lost and your future direction is uncertain. |
You can stay where you are, travel along the Highway of Life or go back the way that you came. |
But then, just visible at the back of the signpost, you read of another place called The Upward Way. |
And ahead of you, there is a straight track, it’s narrow, with a ditch on either side. |
But as look along this track you see that it leads to a mansion. And you see that the owner is outside, holding up a placard with His blood stained hands. You read the sign and it says “Come unto me, all [ye] that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.” |
You now become determined to cross that highway and tread along that welcoming track. |
So you cross that highway, treating it as your baptism for a life that has some meaning. But there is a problem. Just as you get to the other side you see the countless number of people that have crossed before you. They are all around you, they have the problem, they have one foot on the narrow track but the other foot is stuck in the highway concrete; they want to remain in sin. Their problem is that they will not let go of their earthly attractions. |
You remain determined and purposely pull your second foot off the highway and begin your journey along this track. As you travel onwards your eyes remain focussed upon your destination – the owner of that mansion and his invitation to live with Him and join His household. |
God has given you choice – even now you could turn back – Lot’s wife turned round to look back on the world she had left behind. Through neglect, you could fall off the narrow track, into one of the side ditches. Or you could just accept that invitation and progress forward. |
When you left the highway, God justified you – this is like the influence of a magnet working at low power. As you strive to journey along that track towards your spiritual home, the magnetic influence increases; this action is God beginning to sanctify you – breaking you, melting you, moulding you, filling you with the Spirit of the living God. |
Sanctification is not the work of a moment, an hour, a day, but of a lifetime. It is not gained by a happy flight of feeling, but is the result of constantly dying to sin, and constantly living for Christ – Sanctification is the result of lifelong obedience. {AA 560.3}. |
Finally, when we get to that mansion – to Heaven, we will be eternally so happy that our happiness was sufficient to lift the spirit of Jesus when He was in the garden of Gethsemane. |
2 Spirit of Phrophesy quotes to close: |
Conformity to the likeness of Christ’s character, overcoming all sin and temptation, walking in the fear of God, setting the Lord continually before us, will bring peace and joy on earth, and ensure us pure happiness in heaven. {OHC 214.6} |
and |
Faith and love are golden treasures, elements that are greatly wanting among God’s people. Eternal life is of infinite value, and will cost us all that we have. It is evident that we do not place a proper estimate upon eternal things. Everything worth possessing, even in this world, must be secured by effort, and sometimes by most painful sacrifice. And this is merely for a perishable treasure. Shall we be less willing to endure conflict and toil, and to make earnest efforts and great sacrifices for the infinite treasure, which passes all estimate in value, and the duration of life which will measure with the Infinite? Can Heaven cost us too much? {RH, September 16, 1873 par. 11} |

Significant God’s Word Changes made in the NKJV Bible |
General Note: The NKJV text is the nearest of the popular Bible versions to the KJV Bible. While the following list relates to most of the NKJV significant changes, this listing is also applicable to all Alexandrian text Bibles – just be aware that they contain many additional errors with respect to God’s Word. |
|
GENERAL COMMENT: The NKJV claims to make the “old” KJV “much clearer” by “updating obsolete words” (New King James Version, 1982e. p. 1235) |
How about that “obsolete word” – “HELL”. The NKJV removes the word “hell” 23 times! AND how do they make it “much clearer”? By replacing “HELL” with “HADES” and “SHEOL”! |
Webster’s New Collegiate Dictionary defines HADES: “the underground abode of the dead in Greek MYTHOLOGY”. |
By making it “much clearer” – they turn your Bible into MYTHOLOGY! |
Not only that, HADES is not always a place of torment or terror! The Assyrian HADES is an abode of blessedness with silver skies called “Happy Fields”. In the satanic New Age Movement, HADES is an intermediate state of purification! |
|
NKJV: HELL is removed in 2 Sam. 22:6, Job 11:8, 26:6, Psalm 16:10, 18:5, 86:13, 116:3, Isaiah 5:14, 14:15, 28:15,18, 57:9, Jonah 2:2, Matt. 11:23, 16:18, Luke 10:15, 16:23, Acts 2:27, 31, Rev. 1:18, 6:8, 20:13,14. |
|
Then the NKJV decides that maybe the “GRAVE” should be “HADES”! So the NKJV makes 1 Corinthians 15:55 “much clearer” by changing “GRAVE” to “HADES”! “. . . O HADES, where is your victory?” Clear as mud. . . |
|
By now, according to God’s Word, God has sufficient evidence to condemn the NKJV Bible as well as ensuring that it’s translators have lost their right to Heaven. So what about you?; are you already convinced that the NKJV Bible, an upholder of Greek MYTHOLOGY, is heresy and “without light” (Isaiah 8:20)? By throwing out the NKJV Bible you are ALSO denouncing ALL OTHER VERSIONS of the Bible as the NKJV Bible is the closest match to God’s Word, the KJV Bible. |
|
Genesis 2:7 KJV: “And the LORD God formed man [of] the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living SOUL.” |
NKJV: “And the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living BEING.” |
COMMENT: A MAJOR difference between man and beast is that man is the ONLY creature with a SOUL. According to the King James Bible, you are a living SOUL and you are located in a body (or at least you used to be before the NIV and NKJV). Your SOUL has eyes, nose, and mouth. Your SOUL can see and talk. New versions miss this point. Also replacing SOUL here and retaining it (all as the KJV) in the NKJV for Matthew 16:26 looses the cross referencing advantage which exists in God’s Word. (KJV: For what is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world, AND LOSE HIS OWN SOUL? or what shall a man give IN EXCHANGE FOR HIS SOUL?; NKJV: For what is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?) |
|
Genesis 2:18: KJV: “And the LORD God said, [It is] not good that the man should be alone; I will make him an HELP MEET FOR HIM. |
NKJV: “and the Lord God said, It is not good that man should be alone; I will make a HELPER COMPARABLE TO HIM”. |
COMMENT: Note the additional word “COMPARABLE”. |
|
Gen. 3:4-5 KJV: “AND the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die: For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as GODS, knowing good and evil.” |
NKJV: “Then the serpent said to the woman, “You will not surely die. For God knows that in the day you eat of it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God knowing good and evil.” |
COMMENT: This is major blasphemy! God (with a big G) is not evil! Think about the difference. |
|
Genesis 5:2 KJV: “Male and female created he them; and blessed them, and called their name ADAM, in the day when they were created.” |
NKJV: “He created them male and female, and blessed them and called them MANKIND in the day they were created.” |
COMMENT: Adam and Mankind are not synonymous. Where does it say earlier that God ever called their name “Mankind”? |
|
Genesis 12:7 KJV: “And the LORD appeared unto Abram, and said, Unto THY SEED will I give this land: and there builded he an altar unto the LORD, who appeared unto him.” |
NKJV: “Then the Lord appeared to Abram and said, “To YOUR DESCENDANTS I will give this land.” And there he built an altar to the Lord, who had appeared to him.” |
COMMENT: See Genesis 13:15 below. |
|
Genesis 13:15 KJV: “For all the land which thou seest, to thee will I give it, and to thy seed for ever.” |
NKJV: “for all the land which you see I give to you and your DESCENDANTS forever. After the word “DESCENDANTS” we are referred to the footnotes which reads “Literally SEED, and so throughout the book” – Should doctrine like this be relegated to a footnote? Surely it is of paramount importance and is understood in the KJV. Genesis 13:15 is NOT referring to SEEDS (plural) but to a singular SEED, which is Jesus Christ as is made clear in Galatians 3:16. |
Galatians 3:16 KJV: “Now to Abraham and HIS SEED were the promises made. He saith not, AND TO SEEDS, AS OF MANY; but as of ONE, and to THY SEED, which is Christ.” |
Even the NKJV reads very much the same as the KJV here: |
Galatians 3:16 NKJV: “Now to Abraham and HIS SEED were the promises made. He does not say, “AND TO SEEDS,” AS OF MANY, but as of ONE, “And to YOUR SEED,” who is Christ.” |
COMMENT: The Lord Jesus Christ is the SEED of Abraham in whom the whole world is blessed. This translational error produces the false teaching of salvation by race rather than grace. It clearly demonstrates that the NKJV Old Testament is not an accurate Scripture and has massive contradictions. The promises to Abraham and his SEED are in Genesis 12:7; 13:15-16; 15:5,13,18; 17:8-10,19; 21:12; 22:17-18; and 24:7. This is heresy and causes a contradiction sufficient enough to condemn the entire NKJV as flawed. Didn’t even 1 of the 130 NKJV scholars read the context, or cross check the verses? Abraham had MANY DESCENDANTS. Some of whom were not even of Israel, such as Ishmael. |
|
Genesis 22:8 KJV: “God will provide HIMSELF a lamb for a burnt offering:” |
The NKJV adds that little word “for”: “God will provide FOR Himself the lamb for a burnt offering”. This destroys the wonderful promise! Where did they get their little “for”? From the NASV! |
COMMENT: One of the greatest verses in the Bible proclaiming that Jesus Christ was God in the flesh; destroyed by adding 1 word. It is true, as the NKJV says, that God did provide FOR himself a sacrifice. However, that is only part of the story. The NKJV totally misses the deeper, and more amazing truth: GOD WAS the sacrifice! The KJV wording is perfect: “God will provide HIMSELF” (in the form of His Son Jesus Christ) as the sacrifice. |
|
Genesis 22:17 KJV: “That in blessing I will bless thee, and in multiplying I will multiply THY SEED as the stars of the heaven, and as the sand which is upon the sea shore; and THY SEED shall possess the gate of his enemies;” |
NKJV: “Blessing I will bless you, and multiplying I will multiply your DESCENDANTS as the stars of the heaven and as the sand which is on the seashore; and your DESCENDANTS shall possess the gate of their enemies.” |
COMMENT: Paul clearly taught that the promises to Abraham and his seed were to a singular seed, which meant Jesus, not the Jews. But the NKJV has changed the Old Testament reading to “descendants,” completely contradicting Paul’s argument in: |
|
Genesis 24:47 KJV: ” … and I put the EARRING upon her FACE, and the bracelets upon her HANDS.” |
NKJV: ” … So I put the NOSE RING on her NOSE and the bracelets on her WRISTS.” |
COMMENT: The “old” KJV reads: “I put the earring upon her face”. But the NKJV has different plans for beautiful Rebekah: “I put the NOSE RING on her NOSE”. Where did it get the ridiculous idea to “cannibalize” Rebekah? Just take a peek at the NIV, NASV, RSV, NRSV! |
|
Genesis 32:28 KJV: “And he said, Thy name shall be called no more Jacob, but Israel: for AS A PRINCE hast thou POWER WITH GOD and with men, and hast prevailed.” |
NKJV: “And He said, “Your name shall no longer be called Jacob, but Israel; for you have STRUGGLED WITH GOD and with men, and have prevailed.”” |
COMMENT: AS A PRINCE is omitted, words changed and see also Genesis 13:15 above: |
Genesis 13:15 KJV: “For all the land which thou seest, to thee will I give it, and to thy seed for ever.” |
NKJV: “for all the land which you see I give to YOU AND YOUR DESCENDANTS forever.” |
|
Exodus 6:3 KJV: “And I appeared unto Abraham, unto Isaac, and unto Jacob, by [the name of] God Almighty, but by my name JEHOVAH was I not known to them.” |
NKJV: ” I appeared to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, as God Almighty, but by My name LORD I was not known to them.” |
COMMENT: The term “JEHOVAH” is completely omitted. The NKJV makes a very serious doctrinal error when dealing with the word “JEHOVAH” in Exodus 6:3. They change the word “JEHOVAH” to “LORD” thus making the Bible to contradict itself. Even the corrupt “New World Translation” (Jehovah’s Witnesses Bible) has a better rendering of this passage. |
If you will take a concordance and go back to Genesis 1 and go through to Exodus 6:3 you will notice that the word “LORD” is mentioned 213 times. |
Did anyone before Exodus know God by the name of “LORD” before Exodus 6:3. The answer is a resounding, YES! Don’t just sit there, look it up for yourself. |
Adam & Eve knew – Genesis 4:1 |
Enos knew – Genesis 4: 26 |
Noah knew – Genesis 8: 20 |
Shem knew – Genesis 9:26 |
Nimrod knew – Genesis 10:9 |
Abraham knew – Genesis 12:7-8 |
King of Sodom knew – Genesis 14:22 |
Sarah knew – Genesis 16:2; 18:14 |
Hagar knew – Genesis 16:11 |
Lot knew – Genesis 19:14 |
Abimelech knew – Genesis 20:4 |
Eliezor knew – Genesis 24:3-12 |
Rebekah knew – Genesis 24:18 |
Laban and Bethuel knew – Genesis 24:50 |
Isaac knew – Genesis 25:21 |
Abimelech, Ahuzzath, & Phichol knew – Genesis 26:28 |
Jacob knew – Genesis 27:20 |
Leah knew – Genesis 29:32 |
Rachel knew – Genesis 30:24 |
Laban knew – Genesis 30:27 |
Joseph knew – Genesis 39:2-3 |
Pharaoh knew – Exodus 3:18 |
Moses & Aaron knew – Exodus 5:1 |
So to eliminate the word “JEHOVAH” is not only poor scholarship but also perverts and damages the text making it contradictory. It is a key passage that shows God as He reveals Himself BY ANOTHER NAME to mankind. Someone on the translation committee evidently does not like the name, “JEHOVAH.” |
|
Exodus 16:28 KJV: “And the LORD said unto Moses, How long refuse YE to keep my commandments and my laws?” |
NKJV: “And the LORD said to Moses, “How long do YOU refuse to keep My commandments and My laws?” |
COMMENT: It looks like God is saying, “Moses, YOU are continuing to refuse to keep My commandments and My laws.” |
But it was the PEOPLE, not Moses, that God was upset with. |
“Ye” and “you” mean more than one person. “Thee,” “thou,” “thy,” “thine,” “doeth,” “hast,” etc., only mean one person. How do we know? The “Y” is plural [2 bars on top]. The “T” is singular [1 bar on top]. Isn’t that easy? |
Now you know what Jesus meant when He said to Nicodemus, “Marvel not that I said unto THEE, YE must be born again” (John 3:7). This is very important. Not only Nicodemus needed to be saved. But everybody, including him, needed to be born again. That’s why Jesus used the plural. |
Just like the 1611 KJV translators, we need to retain, throughout our Bible, the singular and plural second person pronouns. |
|
SEARCH on DAMN or DAMNABLE or DAMNATION or DAMNED – 15 finds in KJV Bible and none in the NKJV. |
Note: When “DAM” is used [5 times] in the KJV O.T. then it is always translated as “MOTHER” in the NKJV. |
Exodus 22:30 KJV: “Likewise shalt thou do with thine oxen, [and] with thy sheep: seven days it shall be with his DAM; on the eighth day thou shalt give it me.” |
NKJV: “Likewise you shall do with your oxen and your sheep. It shall be with its MOTHER seven days; on the eighth day you shall give it to Me.” |
Other Examples occur in: |
Leviticus 22:27 KJV: “When a bullock, or a sheep, or a goat, is brought forth, then it shall be seven days under the DAM; and from the eighth day and thenceforth it shall be accepted for an offering made by fire unto the LORD.” |
NKJV: “When a bull or a sheep or a goat is born, it shall be seven days with its MOTHER; and from the eighth day and thereafter it shall be accepted as an offering made by fire to the Lord.” |
Deuteronomy 22:6 KJV: “If a bird’s nest chance to be before thee in the way in any tree, or on the ground, [whether they be] young ones, or eggs, and the DAM sitting upon the young, or upon the eggs, thou shalt not take the DAM with the young:” |
NKJV: “If a bird’s nest happens to be before you along the way, in any tree or on the ground, with young ones or eggs, with the MOTHER sitting on the young or on the eggs, you shall not take the MOTHER with the young;” |
Deuteronomy 22:7 KJV: “[But] thou shalt in any wise let the DAM go, and take the young to thee; that it may be well with thee, and [that] thou mayest prolong [thy] days.” |
NKJV: “you shall surely let the MOTHER go, and take the young for yourself, that it may be well with you and that you may prolong your days.” |

|
1 Kings10:28 KJV: “And Solomon had horses brought out of Egypt, and LINEN yarn: the king’s merchants received the LINEN yarn at a price.” |
NKJV: “Also Solomon had horses imported from Egypt and KEVEH; the king’s merchants bought them in KEVEH at the current price.” |
COMMENT: I know what linen is, but what is Keveh? |
|
In four different places in 1 and 2 Kings, “SODOMITES” is changed to “perverted persons.” The NKJV does not deserve its respected name. It is a perverted version. [1Kings14:24, 15:12, 22:46 & 2Kings23:7] |
|
DAMS occurs just once in the NKJV: |
Job 28:11 KJV: “He BINDETH the floods from overflowing; and [the thing that is] hid bringeth he forth to light.” |
NKJV: “He DAMS up the streams from trickling; What is hidden he brings forth to light.” |
COMMENT: re KJV: He bindeth the floods from overflowing – As the miner finds ways and means of cutting through rocks, and draining and carrying off the waters in his mine; so he makes use of other methods of restraining and keeping back the waters from coming into and overflowing his works, and even “from weeping”, as in the original text; he binds them up so firmly, and stops every avenue and passage so close, that the waters cannot so much as ooze, or distil and drop as a tear from the eye: |

Job 1:1 KJV: “There was a man in the land of Uz, whose name [was] Job; and that man was PERFECT and upright, and one that feared God, and eschewed evil.” |
NKJV: “There was a man in the land of Uz, whose name was Job; and that man was BLAMELESS and upright, and one who feared God and shunned evil.” |
COMMENT: The NKJV follows the highly criticized RSV: “There was a man in the land of Uz, whose name was Job; and that man was BLAMELESS and upright, one who feared God, and turned away from evil.” |
The RSV is an authorized revision of the American Standard Version (ASV) of 1901. It was a production of the forerunner of what is now the National Council of Churches. The Revised Standard Version (RSV) was perhaps the most controversial version of the Bible ever translated. Its publication (the New Testament in 1946; the Old Testament in 1952) brought forth a multitude of books and pamphlets against it that attracted the attention of both the secular and religious press. Copies of the RSV were even burned. |
Quote by an NIV committee member: “The RSV opened the era of the multiple translations flooding today’s market, all competing with each other.” Note the words “all competing with each other.” Does that sound like something the Lord is behind? |
|
Job 3:7 KJV: “Lo, let that night be SOLITARY, let no joyful VOICE come therein.” |
NKJV: “Oh, may that night be BARREN! May no joyful SHOUT come into it! |
COMMENT: The NKJV follows the highly criticized RSV: “Yea, let that night be BARREN; let no joyful CRY be heard in it.” |
See Job 1:1 COMMENT notes. |
|
Job 3:8 KJV: “Let them curse it that curse the day, who are READY TO RAISE UP THEIR MOURNING.” |
NKJV: “May those curse it who curse the day, Those who are READY TO AROUSE LEVIATHAN. |
COMMENT: The NKJV follows the highly criticized RSV: “Let those curse it who curse the day, who are SKILLED TO ROUSE UP LEVI?ATHAN. |

|
Job 13:8 KJV: “Will YE ACCEPT HIS PERSON? will YE CONTEND FOR GOD?” |

Job 30:29 KJV: “I am a brother TO DRAGONS, and a companion TO OWLS.” |

Psalm 10:5 KJV: “His ways are ALWAYS GRIEVOUS; THY judgments [are] far above out of his sight: [as for] all his enemies, he PUFFETH at them.” |
NKJV: “His ways are ALWAYS PROSPERING; YOUR judgments are far above, out of his sight; As for all his enemies, he SNEERS at them.” |
COMMENT: Are the ways of the wicked “ALWAYS PROSPERING” or are his ways “ALWAYS GRIEVOUS”? These say two different things. God is not the author of confusion; that title belongs to Satan. |
|
Proverbs 18:8 KJV: “The words of a talebearer [are] as WOUNDS, and they go down into the innermost parts of the belly.” |
NKJV: “The words of a talebearer are like TASTY TRIFLES, And they go down into the inmost body.” |
COMMENT: Obviously, the Word of God is much wiser. When are the word of a talebearer considered to be tasty? |
|
Proverbs 19:18 KJV: “Chasten thy son while there is hope, and LET NOT THY SOUL SPARE FOR HIS CRYING.” |
NKJV: “Chasten your son while there is hope, And DO NOT SET YOUR HEART ON HIS DESTRUCTION.” |
COMMENT: The doctrine of “Biblical childrearing” is dependant upon the Bible version! Setting “YOUR HEART ON HIS DESTRUCTION” can mean a lot of things; “SPARE FOR HIS CRYING” means exactly that. Other similar examples exist. |
|
Proverbs 29:18 KJV: “Where [there is] no VISION, the people PERISH: but he that keepeth the law, happy [is] he.” |
NKJV: “Where there is no REVELATION, the people CAST OFF RESTRAINT; But happy is he who keeps the law.” |
COMMENT: How can PERISH suddenly become CAST OFF RESTRAINT? |
|
Isaiah 9:3 KJV: “Thou hast multiplied the nation, [and] NOT INCREASED the joy: they joy before thee according to the joy in harvest, [and] as [men] rejoice when they divide the spoil.” |
NKJV says “You have multiplied the nation And INCREASED its joy; They rejoice before You According to the joy of harvest, As men rejoice when they divide the spoil.” |
COMMENT: None needed! |
|
Isaiah 11:3 KJV: “And shall make him of quick understanding in the fear of the LORD: and he shall not judge after the sight of his eyes, neither reprove after the hearing of his ears:” |
NKJV: “His delight is in the fear of the Lord, And He shall not judge by the sight of His eyes, Nor decide by the hearing of His ears;” |
COMMENT: The entire phrase, “And shall make Him of quick understanding” in the KJV is eliminated in the NKJV, NWT, NASV, NIV and RSV. |
|
Isaiah 66:5 KJV: “Hear the word of the LORD, YE that tremble at his word; Your brethren that hated you, that cast you out for my name’s sake, said, Let the LORD be glorified: but HE SHALL APPEAR TO YOUR JOY, and they shall be ashamed.” |
NKJV: “Hear the word of the LORD, YOU who tremble at His word: “Your brethren who hated you, who cast you out for My name’s sake, said, ‘Let the LORD be glorified, THAT WE MAY SEE YOUR JOY.’ But they shall be ashamed.” |
COMMENT: In the KJV, the LORD shall appear, which shall occur at the Second Coming of Christ. In the NKJV, the Second Coming is wholly omitted. The wonderful phrase, “But He shall appear to your joy” in the KJV disappears without explanation from NKJV, NASV, NIV and RSV. |
|
Dan. 3:25 KJV: “He answered and said, Lo, I see four men loose, walking in the midst of the fire, and they have no hurt; and the form of the fourth is like THE SON OF GOD.” |
NKJV: “Look!” he answered, “I see four men loose, walking in the midst of the fire; and they are not hurt, and the form of the fourth is like THE SON OF GOD.” (footnote) “or a son of the gods”. |
COMMENT: There is a big difference between “THE SON OF GOD” and a son of ‘plural’ gods! |
The fourth person who was in the fiery furnace with Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, was identified as “the Son of God.” The same identification is given in the text of the NKJV but a footnote reads “or, a son of the gods,” and both NIV and NASV actually have the latter reading in their texts. |
|
COMMENT: Another one of those “obsolete words” is “REPENT”. They take it out 44 times! How does the NKJV make it “much clearer”? In Matthew 21:32 they use “RELENT”. Matthew 27:3 it’s “REMORSEFUL” and in Romans 11:29 they change “repentance” to “IRREVOCABLE”. |
Matthew 21:32 KJV: “For John came unto you in the way of righteousness, and ye believed him not: but the publicans and the harlots believed him: and ye, when ye had seen [it], REPENTED not afterward, that ye might believe him.” |
Matthew 21:32 NKJV: “For John came to you in the way of righteousness, and you did not believe him; but tax collectors and harlots believed him; and when you saw it, you did not afterward RELENT and believe him.” |
|
Matthew 27:3 KJV: “Then Judas, which had betrayed him, when he saw that he was condemned, REPENTED himself, and brought again the thirty pieces of silver to the chief priests and elders,” |
Matthew 27:3: NKJV: “Then Judas, His betrayer, seeing that He had been condemned, was REMORSEFUL and brought back the thirty pieces of silver to the chief priests and elders,” |
|
Romans 11:29: KJV: “For the gifts and calling of God [are] without REPENTANCE.” |
Romans 11:29: NKJV: “For the gifts and the calling of God are IRREVOCABLE.” |
|
GENERAL COMMENT: When “DAMNATION” or “DAMNED” or “DAMNABLE” is used in the KJV N.T. then it is translated as “CONDEMNATION” or “DESTRUCTION” or “CONDEMNED” or “DESTRUCTIVE” in the NKJV. Agrees with the NIV, RSV, NRSV, NASV. |
Matthew 23:14 KJV: “Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye devour widows’ houses, and for a pretence make long prayer: therefore ye shall receive the greater DAMNATION.” |
NKJV: “Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you devour widows’ houses, and for a pretense make long prayers. Therefore you will receive greater CONDEMNATION.” |
GENERAL COMMENT: The meaning of DAMNATION is a CONDEMNATION for eternity; the meaning of CONDEMNATION is “the expression of very strong disapproval; censure.” or [as used here], “the action of condemning someone to a punishment; sentencing.”. There is a big difference between an eternal punishment of death and a censure or punishment which just has a finite duration before freedom occurs. The other N.T. references follow to amplify these points: |
With the exception of the word “DAMS”, all KJV words beginning with “DAMN” are NOT in the NKJV! The NKJV makes it “much clearer” by replacing it with word associated with “CONDEMN” or “DESTRUCT”. “CONDEMNED” is NO WHERE NEAR AS SERIOUS as “DAMNED”! DAMNED is eternal! One can be “CONDEMNED” and not “DAMNED”. Romans 14:22 says, “. . . Happy is he that CONDEMNETH not himself in that thing which he alloweth.”Webster defines “CONDEMNED” as “to declare to be wrong, but the much more serious and eternal “DAMN” as “to condemn to hell”. |
|
Matthew 23:33 KJV: “[Ye] serpents, [ye] generation of vipers, how can ye escape the DAMNATION of hell?” |
NKJV: “Serpents, brood of vipers! How can you escape the CONDEMNATION of hell? |
|
Mark 3:29 KJV: “But he that shall blaspheme against the Holy Ghost hath never forgiveness, but is in danger of eternal DAMNATION:” |
NKJV: “but he who blasphemes against the Holy Spirit never has forgiveness, but is subject to eternal CONDEMNATION” |
|
Mark 12:40 KJV: “Which devour widows’ houses, and for a pretence make long prayers: these shall receive greater DAMNATION.” |
NKJV: “who devour widows’ houses, and for a pretense make long prayers. These will receive greater CONDEMNATION.” |
|
Mark 16:16 KJV: “He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be DAMNED.” |
NKJV: “He who believes and is baptized will be saved; but he who does not believe will be CONDEMNED.” |
|
Luke 20:47 KJV: “Which devour widows’ houses, and for a show make long prayers: the same shall receive greater DAMNATION.” |
NKJV: “who devour widows’ houses, and for a pretense make long prayers. These will receive greater CONDEMNATION.” |
|
John 5:29 KJV: “And shall come forth; they that have done good, unto the resurrection of life; and they that have done evil, unto the resurrection of DAMNATION.” |
NKJV: “and come forth—those who have done good, to the resurrection of life, and those who have done evil, to the resurrection of CONDEMNATION.” |
|
Romans 3:8 KJV: “And not [rather], (as we be slanderously reported, and as some affirm that we say,) Let us do evil, that good may come? whose DAMNATION is just.” |
NKJV: “And why not say, “Let us do evil that good may come”?—as we are slanderously reported and as some affirm that we say. Their CONDEMNATION is just.” |
|
Romans 13:2 KJV: “Whosoever therefore resisteth the POWER, resisteth the ordinance of God: and they that resist shall receive to themselves DAMNATION.” |
NKJV: “Therefore whoever resists the AUTHORITY resists the ordinance of God, and those who resist will bring JUDGMENT on themselves.” |
|
Romans 14:23 KJV: “And he that doubteth is DAMNED if he eat, because [he eateth] not of faith: for whatsoever [is] not of faith is sin.” |
NKJV: “But he who doubts is CONDEMNED if he eats, because he does not eat from faith; for whatever is not from faith is sin.” |
|
1 Corinthians 11:29 KJV: “For he that eateth and drinketh unworthily, eateth and drinketh DAMNATION to himself, not discerning the Lord’s body.” |
NKJV: “For he who eats and drinks in an unworthy manner eats and drinks JUDGMENT to himself, not discerning the Lord’s body. |
|
2 Thessalonians 2:12 KJV: “That they all might be DAMNED who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness.” |
NKJV: “that they all may be CONDEMNED who did not believe the truth but had pleasure in unrighteousness.” |
|
1 Timothy 5:12 KJV: “Having DAMNATION, because they have cast off their first faith.” |
NKJV: “having CONDEMNATION because they have cast off their first faith.” |
|
2 Peter 2:1 KJV: “But there were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who privily shall bring in DAMNABLE HERESIES, even denying the Lord that bought them, and bring upon themselves swift DESTRUCTION.” |
NKJV: “But there were also false prophets among the people, even as there will be false teachers among you, who will secretly bring in DESTRUCTIVE HERESIES, even denying the Lord who bought them, and bring on themselves swift DESTRUCTION.” |
|
2 Peter 2:3 KJV: “And through covetousness shall they with FEIGNED words make MERCHANDISE of you: whose judgment now of a long time lingereth not, and their DAMNATION slumbereth not.” |
NKJV: “By covetousness they will EXPLOIT you with DECEPTIVE words; for a long time their judgment has not been idle, and their DESTRUCTION does not slumber.” |
|
GENERAL COMMENT: The term “NEW TESTAMENT” is NOT in the NKJV! (see Matt. 26:28, Mark 14:24, Luke 22:20, 1 Cor. 11:25, 2 Cor. 3:6, Heb. 9:15,) The NKJV replaces “NEW TESTAMENT” with “NEW COVENANT”. This agrees with the NIV, NRSV, RSV, NASV; an obvious assault at the written word! |
Matthew 26:28 KJV: “For this is my blood of the NEW TESTAMENT, which is shed for many for the remission of sins.” |
NKJV: “For this is My blood of the NEW COVENANT, which is shed for many for the remission of sins.” |
|
Mark 14:24 KJV: And he said unto them, This is my blood of the NEW TESTAMENT, which is shed for many.” |
NKJV: And he said unto them, This is my blood of the NEW TESTAMENT, which is shed for many.” |
|
Luke 22:20 KJV: “Likewise also the cup after supper, saying, This cup [is] the NEW TESTAMENT in my blood, which is shed for you.” |
NKJV: “Likewise He also took the cup after supper, saying, “This cup is the NEW COVENANT in My blood, which is shed for you.” |
|
1 Corinthians 11:25 KJV: “After the same manner also [he took] the cup, when he had supped, saying, This cup is the NEW TESTAMENT in my blood: this do ye, as oft as ye drink [it], in remembrance of me.” |
NKJV: “In the same manner He also took the cup after supper, saying, “This cup is the NEW COVENANT in My blood. This do, as often as you drink it, in remembrance of Me.”” |
|
2 Corinthians 3:6 KJV: “Who also hath made us able ministers of the NEW TESTAMENT; not of the letter, but of the spirit: for the letter killeth, but the spirit giveth life.” |
NKJV: “who also made us sufficient as ministers of the NEW COVENANT, not of the letter but of the Spirit; for the letter kills, but the Spirit gives life.” |
|
Hebrews 9:15 KJV: “And for this cause he is the mediator of the NEW TESTAMENT, that by means of death, for the redemption of the transgressions [that were] under the first testament, they which are called might receive the promise of eternal inheritance.” |
NKJV: “And for this reason He is the Mediator of the NEW COVENANT, by means of death, for the redemption of the transgressions under the first covenant, that those who are called may receive the promise of the eternal inheritance.” |
|
Matthew 2:4 KJV: “… he (King Herod) DEMANDED of them where Christ should be born.” |
NKJV: “… he INQUIRED of them where Christ was to be born.” |
COMMENT: King Herod, furious over the arrival of Jesus, (and wanting to do away with Him) did not INQUIRE where Christ should be born, he DEMANDED to know! |
|
Matthew 7:14 KJV: “Because strait [is] the gate, and NARROW [is] the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.” |
NKJV: “Because narrow is the gate and DIFFICULT is the way which leads to life, and there are few who find it.” |
COMMENT: The way was NARROW but it’s now DIFFICULT. There’s nothing “DIFFICULT” about the salvation of Jesus Christ! Jesus says in Matthew 11:30 KJV & NKJV: “For my yoke [is] EASY, and my burden is light.” THE EXACT OPPOSITE! Boy, you talk about a contradiction! |
Is the way unto eternal life difficult? No, that is false teaching. The way unto eternal life is “strait,” as the KJV says, meaning “constricted, restricted, distressed, narrow, restrained.” |
|
COMMENT: In order to “harmonize” with the satanic New Age Movement (and of course the NIV, NASV, RSV, NRSV!), the NKJV changes “end of the WORLD” to “end of the AGE”! It’s no longer the “WORLD to come” but the “AGE to come”. The New Age Movement teaches a series of AGES (hence the name: New AGE). See Matthew 12:32, 13:39, 13:40, 13:49, 24:3, 28:20, Mark 10:30, Luke 18:30, 20:34,35, 1 Cor 1:20. |
Matthew 12:32 KJV: “And whosoever speaketh a word against the Son of man, it shall be forgiven him: but whosoever speaketh against the Holy Ghost, it shall not be forgiven him, neither in this WORLD, neither in the [WORLD] to come.” |
NKJV: “Anyone who speaks a word against the Son of Man, it will be forgiven him; but whoever speaks against the Holy Spirit, it will not be forgiven him, either in this AGE or in the AGE to come.” |
|
Matthew 13:39 KJV: “The enemy that sowed them is the devil; the harvest is the end of the WORLD; and the reapers are the angels.” |
NKJV: “The enemy who sowed them is the devil, the harvest is the end of the AGE, and the reapers are the angels.” |
|
Matthew 13:40 KJV: “As therefore the tares are gathered and burned in the fire; so shall it be in the end of this WORLD.” |
NKJV: “Therefore as the tares are gathered and burned in the fire, so it will be at the end of this AGE.” |
|
Matthew 13:49 KJV: “So shall it be at the end of the WORLD: the angels shall come forth, and sever the wicked from among the just,” |
NKJV: “So it will be at the end of the AGE. The angels will come forth, separate the wicked from among the just, |
|
Matthew 24:3 KJV: “And as he sat upon the mount of Olives, the disciples came unto him privately, saying, Tell us, when shall these things be? and what [shall be] the sign of thy coming, and of the end of the WORLD?” |
NKJV: “Now as He sat on the Mount of Olives, the disciples came to Him privately, saying, “Tell us, when will these things be? And what will be the sign of Your coming, and of the end of the AGE?”” |
|
Matthew 28:20 KJV: “Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, [even] unto the end of the WORLD. Amen.” |
NKJV: “teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the AGE.” Amen. |
|
Mark 10:30 KJV: “But he shall receive an hundredfold now in this time, houses, and brethren, and sisters, and mothers, and children, and lands, with persecutions; and in the WORLD to come eternal life.” |
NKJV: “who shall not receive a hundredfold now in this time—houses and brothers and sisters and mothers and children and lands, with persecutions—and in the AGE to come, eternal life.” |
|
Luke 18:30 KJV: “Who shall not receive manifold more in this present time, and in the WORLD to come life everlasting.” |
NKJV: “who shall not receive many times more in this present time, and in the AGE to come eternal life.” |
|
Luke 20:34 KJV: “And Jesus answering said unto them, The children of this WORLD marry, and are given in marriage:” |
NKJV: “Jesus answered and said to them, “The sons of this AGE marry and are given in marriage.” |
|
Luke 20:35 KJV: “But they which shall be accounted worthy to obtain that WORLD, and the resurrection from the dead, neither marry, nor are given in marriage: |
NKJV: “But those who are counted worthy to attain that AGE, and the resurrection from the dead, neither marry nor are given in marriage; |
|
1 Corinthians 1:20 KJV: “Where [is] the wise? where [is] the scribe? where [is] the disputer of this WORLD? hath not God made foolish the wisdom of this WORLD? |
NKJV: “Where is the wise? Where is the scribe? Where is the disputer of this AGE? Has not God made foolish the wisdom of this WORLD?” |
|
Hebrews 9:26 KJV: “For then must he often have suffered since the foundation of the WORLD: but now once in the end of the WORLD hath he appeared to put away sin by the sacrifice of himself.” |
NKJV: “He then would have had to suffer often since the foundation of the WORLD; but now, once at the end of the AGEs, He has appeared to put away sin by the sacrifice of Himself. |
|
COMMENT: Note that in the Old Testament, no change occurs: |
Psalm 19:4 KJV: “Their line is gone out through all the earth, and their words to the end of the WORLD. In them hath he set a tabernacle for the sun,” |
NKJV: “Their line has gone out through all the earth, And their words to the end of the WORLD. In them He has set a tabernacle for the sun, |
|
Isaiah 62:11 KJV: “Behold, the LORD hath proclaimed unto the end of the WORLD, Say ye to the daughter of Zion, Behold, thy salvation cometh; behold, his reward [is] with him, and his work before him.” |
NKJV: “Indeed the Lord has proclaimed To the end of the WORLD: “Say to the daughter of Zion, ‘Surely your salvation is coming; Behold, His reward is with Him, And His work before Him.’” |
|
Matthew 5:22 KJV: “But I say unto you, That whosoever is angry with his brother WITHOUT A CAUSE shall be in danger of the judgment: and whosoever shall say to his brother, Raca, shall be in danger of the council: but whosoever shall say, Thou fool, shall be in danger of hell fire.” |
NKJV: “But I say to you that whoever is angry with his brother WITHOUT A CAUSE shall be in danger of the judgment. And whoever says to his brother, ‘Raca!’ shall be in danger of the council. But whoever says, ‘You fool!’ shall be in danger of hell fire. |
COMMENT: The NKJV Footnotes cite “NU-Text omits WITHOUT A CAUSE” The NKJV thereby presents Jesus as a sinner. The NKJV agrees with the corrupt Alexandrian NIV. |
|
READER: Please be aware that, through the use of Footnotes, the NKJV revisers have made many changes from the Hebrew and Greek texts. These include the elimination of many entire verses by reference to the NU-Text and, to a lesser extent, the M-Text. The NIV, NASB, ESV, and HCSV do the same. |
|
Matthew 17:21 KJV: “Howbeit this kind goeth not out but by prayer and fasting.” |
NKJV: “However, this kind does not go out except by prayer and fasting.” |
COMMENT: The NKJV Footnotes cite “NU-Text omits this verse.” |
|
Matthew 18:11 KJV: “For the Son of Man IS come to save that which was lost.” |
NKJV: “For the Son of Man HAS come to save that which was lost.” |
COMMENT: The NKJV says Jesus Christ “HAS come” to save that which was lost; a PAST TENSE statement. The NKJV implies that ALL who were to be saved, HAVE BEEN saved. Not true. Anyone TODAY can be saved by Jesus. The correct reading is PRESENT TENSE. This NKJV text ERROR agrees with the NASV, HCSV, AbinPE, NAS1977, ASV, DBT, WEB & YLT and others. There are NUMEROUS places where the NKJV changes the verb tense. These types of NKJV corruptions are very subtle. Also, the NKJV Footnotes cite “NU-Text omits this verse.” |
|
Matthew 18:26 KJV: “The servant therefore fell down, AND WORSHIPPED HIM, saying, Lord, have patience with me, and I will pay thee all.” |
NKJV: “The servant therefore fell down BEFORE HIM, saying, ‘Master, have patience with me, and I will pay you all.’” |
|
Matthew 20:20 KJV: “Then came to him the mother of Zebedee’s children with her sons, WORSHIPPING [HIM], and desiring a certain thing of him. |
NKJV: “Then the mother of Zebedee’s sons came to Him with her sons, KNEELING DOWN and asking something from Him. |
COMMENT: KNEELING DOWN is not even close to WORSHIP. In both of these verses the NKJV removes by robbery the act of WORSHIP given to Jesus. Perhaps today this is now wrong; after all it’s in the perverted NIV, NASV, RSV, and NRSV! |
This is a wicked change. To kneel is obviously not the same as WORSHIP. WORSHIP was in Tyndale’s translation of 1526. It was in the Matthew’s Bible of 1537. It was the Geneva of 1537. It was in the Authorized Version of 1611. Even the English Revised version of 1881 and the American Standard Version of 1901 retained the word WORSHIP. It was the modernistic Revised Standard Version of 1952 which changed to KNEELING. Now the NKJV editors follow this same wicked error. |

COMMENT: The NKJV Footnotes cite “NU-Text omits this verse.” For details regarding “DAMNATION” see the GENERAL COMMENTS which are located before the start of the New Testament texts. |

Mark 3:5 KJV: “And when he had looked round about on them with anger, being grieved for the hardness of their hearts, he saith unto the man, Stretch forth thine hand. And he stretched [it] out: and his hand was restored WHOLE AS THE OTHER.” |
NKJV: “And when He had looked around at them with anger, being grieved by the hardness of their hearts, He said to the man, “Stretch out your hand.” And he stretched it out, and his hand was restored AS WHOLE AS THE OTHER.” |
COMMENT: In the NKJV, the NU-Text omits AS WHOLE AS THE OTHER. This omission implies that only a limited and unspecified degree of restoration occurred. Agrees with the NIV. |

NKJV: “If anyone has ears to hear, let him hear!” |

Mark 9:45 KJV: “And if thy foot offend thee, cut it off: it is better for thee to enter halt into life, than having two feet to be cast into hell, into the fire that never shall be quenched:” |
NKJV: “And if your foot causes you to sin, cut it off. It is better for you to enter life lame, rather than having two feet, to be cast into hell, into the fire that shall never be quenched—” |

Mark 9:46 KJV: “Where their worm dieth not, and the fire is not quenched.” |

Mark 11:26 KJV: “But if ye do not forgive, neither will your Father which is in heaven forgive your trespasses.” |
NKJV: “But if you do not forgive, neither will your Father in heaven forgive your trespasses.” |

Mark 13:6 KJV: “For many shall come in my name, saying, I am [CHRIST]; and shall deceive many.” |
NKJV: “For many will come in My name, saying, ‘I am HE,’ and will deceive many.” |
COMMENT: Mark 13:6 & Luke 21:8: removes “CHRIST”; just refer to him as HE – then that also includes the false christs that will come (NIV, NASV, RSV, NRSV). See also the GENERAL COMMENT FOLLOWING the Luke 21:8 COMMENT. |

Mark 16:9-20 KJV: “9 Now when [Jesus] was risen early the first [day] of the week, he appeared first to Mary Magdalene, out of whom he had cast seven devils. 10 [And] she went and told them that had been with him, as they mourned and wept. 11 And they, when they had heard that he was alive, and had been seen of her, believed not. 12 After that he appeared in another form unto two of them, as they walked, and went into the country. 13 And they went and told [it] unto the residue: neither believed they them. 14 Afterward he appeared unto the eleven as they sat at meat, and upbraided them with their unbelief and hardness of heart, because they believed not them which had seen him after he was risen. 15 And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature. 16 He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned. 17 And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; 18 THEY SHALL take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover. 19 So then after the Lord had spoken unto them, he was received up into heaven, and sat on the right hand of God. 20 And they went forth, and preached every where, the Lord working with [them], and confirming the word with signs following. Amen. |
NKJV: “9 Now when He rose early on the first day of the week, He appeared first to Mary Magdalene, out of whom He had cast seven demons. 10 She went and told those who had been with Him, as they mourned and wept. 11 And when they heard that He was alive and had been seen by her, they did not believe. 12 After that, He appeared in another form to two of them as they walked and went into the country. 13 And they went and told it to the rest, but they did not believe them either. 14 Later He appeared to the eleven as they sat at the table; and He rebuked their unbelief and hardness of heart, because they did not believe those who had seen Him after He had risen. 15 And He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature.16 He who believes and is baptized will be saved; but he who does not believe will be condemned. 17 And these signs will follow those who believe: In My name they will cast out demons; they will speak with new tongues; 18 THEY WILL take up serpents; and if they drink anything deadly, it will by no means hurt them; they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover.” 19 So then, after the Lord had spoken to them, He was received up into heaven, and sat down at the right hand of God. 20 And they went out and preached everywhere, the Lord working with them and confirming the word through the accompanying signs. Amen.” |
COMMENT: The NKJV Footnotes cite for Mark 16:18 “NU-Text reads “and in their hands they will””. The NKJV Footnotes cite for Mark 16: “Verses 9–20 are bracketed in NU-Text as NOT ORIGINAL. They are lacking in Codex Sinaiticus and Codex Vaticanus, although nearly all other manuscripts of Mark contain them.” |
|
Luke 17:36 KJV: “Two [men] shall be in the field; the one shall be taken, and the other left.” |
NKJV: “Two men will be in the field: the one will be taken and the other left.” |
COMMENT: The NKJV Footnotes cite “NU-Text and M-Text omit verse 36.” |
|
Luke 21:8 KJV: “And he said, Take heed that ye be not deceived: for many shall come in my name, saying, I am [CHRIST]; and the time draweth near: go ye not therefore after them.” |
NKJV: “And He said: “Take heed that you not be deceived. For many will come in My name, saying, ‘I am HE,’ and, ‘The time has drawn near.’ Therefore do not go after them.” |
COMMENT: Mark 13:6 & Luke 21:8: removes “CHRIST”; just refer to him as HE – then that also includes the false christs that will come (NIV, NASV, RSV, NRSV). |
|
GENERAL COMMENT: The New Age Movement and the occult are longing for one called the Maitreya. The Bible calls him the Anti-Christ. New Ager’s refer to him as the “the Coming One” – AND SO DOES THE NKJV! In Luke 7:19, 20 (see also Matt 11:3) John told his disciples to ask Jesus: “Are You THE COMING ONE. . .” In the “The Great Invocation”, a “prayer” highly reverenced among New Agers and chanted to “invoke” the Maitreya, says, “Let Light and Love and Power and Death, Fulfil the purpose of the Coming One.” |
|
Luke 22:43-44 KJV: “43 And there appeared an angel unto him from heaven, strengthening him. 44 And being in an agony he prayed more earnestly: and his sweat was as it were great drops of blood falling down to the ground.” |
NKJV: “43 Then an angel appeared to Him from heaven, strengthening Him. 44 And being in agony, He prayed more earnestly. Then His sweat became like great drops of blood falling down to the ground.” |
COMMENT: The NKJV Footnotes cite “NU-Text brackets verses 43 and 44 as not in the original text.” |
|
Luke 23:17 KJV: “(For of necessity he must release one unto them at the feast.)” |
NKJV: “(for it was necessary for him to release one to them at the feast).” |
COMMENT: The NKJV Footnotes cite “NU-Text omits verse 17”. |
|
John 1:3 KJV: “All things were made BY him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.” |
NKJV: “All things were made THROUGH Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made.” |
COMMENT: The NKJV demotes the Lord Jesus Christ. The KJV says that all things were made “BY” Jesus Christ, but in the NKJV, all things were just made “THROUGH” Him. Think about it. This agrees with the NIV, NRSV, RSV. |
|
John 3:7 KJV: “Marvel not that I said unto THEE, YE must be born again.” |
NKJV: “Do not marvel that I said to YOU, ‘YOU must be born again.’” |
COMMENT: All such T’s [thee, thou, thine, etc.] are singular and all Y’s [ye, etc.] are plurals – when replaced by YOU they are singular but can be plural. Now you know what Jesus meant when He said to Nicodemus, “Marvel not that I said unto THEE, YE must be born again”. This is very important. Not only Nicodemus needed to be saved. But everybody, including him, needed to be born again. That’s why Jesus used the plural. In the NKJV it implies that only Nicodemus need be born again. |
Just like the 1611 translators, we need to retain, throughout our Bible, the singular and plural second person pronouns. |
|
John 4:24 KJV: “God [IS] A Spirit: and they that worship him must worship [him] in spirit and in truth. |
NKJV: “God IS Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth.” |
COMMENT: “God [IS] A Spirit” is changed to the impersonal, New Age pantheistic,”God IS Spirit”. This agrees with the NIV, NASV, NRSV, RSV. |
For the NKJV to say: “God IS spirit” is to infer that ALL spirits are God. Not true. We know there are evil spirits, and we know in God there is NO evil. Thus the KJV is correct: God [IS] A Spirit. |
|
John 5:3-4 KJV: “3 In these lay a great multitude of impotent folk, of blind, halt, withered, WAITING FOR THE MOVING OF THE WATER. 4 For an angel went down at a certain season into the pool, and troubled the water: whosoever then first after the troubling of the water stepped in was made whole of whatsoever disease he had.” |
NKJV: “3 In these lay a great multitude of sick people, blind, lame, paralyzed, WAITING FOR THE MOVING OF THE WATER. 4 For an angel went down at a certain time into the pool and stirred up the water; then whoever stepped in first, after the stirring of the water, was made well of whatever disease he had.” |
COMMENT: The NKJV Footnotes cite “NU-Text omits waiting for the moving of the water at the end of verse 3, and all of verse 4.” |
|
John 5:39 KJV: “SEARCH the scriptures; for in them YE think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me.” |
NKJV: “YOU SEARCH the Scriptures, for in them YOU think you have eternal life; and these are they which testify of Me.” |
COMMENT: It changes the charge to SEARCH the scriptures into a thing already practised by them. |
|
John 7:8-10 KJV: “8 Go ye up unto this feast: I go not up yet unto this feast: for my time is not yet full come. 9 When he had said these words unto them, he abode [still] in Galilee. 10 But when his brethren were gone up, then went he also up unto the feast, not openly, but as it were in secret. |
NKJV: “8 You go up to this feast. I am not YET going up to this feast, for My time has not yet fully come.” 9 When He had said these things to them, He remained in Galilee. 10 But when His brothers had gone up, then He also went up to the feast, not openly, but as it were in secret.” |
COMMENT: The NKJV footnote regarding “YET” cites “NU-Text omits yet”. Despite it being in the KJV text, it’s omission makes Jesus out to be a liar – After saying that He is not going to the feast, He then goes in secret after His brothers leave. |

John 7:53-8:11KJV: “7:53 And every man went unto his own house. 8:1 Jesus went unto the mount of Olives. 2 And early in the morning he came again into the temple, and all the people came unto him; and he sat down, and taught them. 3 And the scribes and Pharisees brought unto him a woman taken in adultery; and when they had set her in the midst, 4 They say unto him, Master, this woman was taken in adultery, in the very act. |
5 Now Moses in the law commanded us, that such should be stoned: but what sayest thou? 6 This they said, tempting him, that they might have to accuse him. But Jesus stooped down, and with his finger wrote on the ground, AS THOUGH HE HEARD THEM NOT. 7 So when they continued asking him, he lifted up himself, and said unto them, He that is without sin among you, let him first cast a stone at her. 8 And again he stooped down, and wrote on the ground. |
9 And they which heard it, BEING CONVICTED BY THEIR OWN CONSCIENCE, went out one by one, beginning at the eldest, even unto the last: and Jesus was left alone, and the woman standing in the midst. 10 When Jesus had lifted up himself, AND SAW NONE BUT THE WOMAN, he said unto her, Woman, where are those THINE accusers? hath no man condemned thee? 11 She said, No man, Lord. And Jesus said unto her, Neither do I condemn thee: go, and sin no more. |
John 7:53-8:11NKJV: “7:53 And everyone went to his own house.[a] 8:1 But Jesus went to the Mount of Olives. 2 Now early[b] in the morning He came again into the temple, and all the people came to Him; and He sat down and taught them. 3 Then the scribes and Pharisees brought to Him a woman caught in adultery. And when they had set her in the midst, 4 they said to Him, “Teacher, this woman was caught[c] in adultery, in the very act. |
5 Now Moses, in the law, commanded[d] us that such should be stoned.[e] But what do You say?”[f] 6 This they said, testing Him, that they might have something of which to accuse Him. But Jesus stooped down and wrote on the ground with His finger, AS THOUGH HE DID NOT HEAR.[g] 7 So when they continued asking Him, He raised Himself up[h] and said to them, “He who is without sin among you, let him throw a stone at her first.” 8 And again He stooped down and wrote on the ground. |
9 Then those who heard it, BEING CONVICTED BY THEIR CONSCIENCE,[i] went out one by one, beginning with the oldest even to the last. And Jesus was left alone, and the woman standing in the midst. 10 When Jesus had raised Himself up AND SAW NO ONE BUT THE WOMAN, He said to her,[j] “Woman, where are those accusers OF YOURS?[k] Has no one condemned you?” 11 She said, “No one, Lord.” And Jesus said to her, “Neither do I condemn you; go and[l] sin no more.” |

John 20:17 KJV: “Jesus saith unto her, TOUCH ME NOT; for I am not yet ascended to my Father: but go to my brethren, and say unto them, I ascend unto my Father, and your Father; and [to] my God, and your God.” |
NKJV: “Jesus said to her, “DO NOT CLING TO ME, for I have not yet ascended to My Father; but go to My brethren and say to them, ‘I am ascending to My Father and your Father, and to My God and your God.’” |
COMMENT: The fundamental importance [as to whether the sacrifice had been accepted by the Father] of not even TOUCHING Jesus is lost. |
|
COMMENT: The word “SERVANT” replaces “SON” in Acts 3:13 and 3:26: |
Acts 3:13 KJV: “The God of Abraham, and of Isaac, and of Jacob, the God of our fathers, hath glorified his SON Jesus; whom ye delivered up, and denied him in the presence of Pilate, when he was determined to let [him] go.” |
NKJV: “The God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, the God of our fathers, glorified His SERVANT Jesus, whom you delivered up and denied in the presence of Pilate, when he was determined to let Him go.” |
|
Acts 3:26 KJV: “Unto you first God, having raised up his SON Jesus, sent him to bless you, in turning away every one of you from his iniquities.” |
NKJV: “To you first, God, having raised up His SERVANT Jesus, sent Him to bless you, in turning away every one of you from your iniquities.” |
COMMENT: Apparently God’s Son has been demoted to a servant which agrees with the NIV, NASV, NRSV, ASV, RSV, Roman Catholic New American Bible (NAB), etc.. |
|
Acts 4:13 KJV: “Now when they saw the boldness of Peter and John, and perceived that they were unlearned and IGNORANT men..” |
NKJV: “Now when they saw the boldness of Peter and John, and perceived that they were uneducated and UNTRAINED men…” |
COMMENT: Peter and John had been with Jesus for some time. They were NOT UNTRAINED. Jesus HAD TRAINED them. |
They were, however, IGNORANT. |
|
Acts 4:27 KJV: “For of a truth against thy HOLY CHILD Jesus, whom thou hast anointed, both Herod, and Pontius Pilate, with the Gentiles, and the people of Israel, were gathered together,” |
NKJV: “For truly against Your HOLY SERVANT Jesus, whom You anointed, both Herod and Pontius Pilate, with the Gentiles and the people of Israel, were gathered together” |
COMMENT: Apparently God’s “HOLY CHILD” has been demoted to a “HOLY SERVANT” which agrees with the NIV, NASV, NRSV, ASV, RSV, Roman Catholic New American Bible (NAB), etc.. |
|
Acts 4:30 KJV: “By stretching forth thine hand to heal; and that signs and wonders may be done by the name of thy HOLY CHILD Jesus.” |
NKJV: “by stretching out Your hand to heal, and that signs and wonders may be done through the name of Your HOLY SERVANT Jesus.” |
COMMENT: Apparently God’s “HOLY CHILD” has been demoted to a “HOLY SERVANT” which agrees with the NIV, NASV, NRSV, ASV, RSV, Roman Catholic New American Bible (NAB), etc.. |
|
Acts 7:45 KJV: “Which also our fathers that came after brought in with JESUS into the possession of the Gentiles, whom God drave out before the face of our fathers, unto the days of David;” |
NKJV: “which our fathers, having received it in turn, also brought with JOSHUA into the land possessed by the Gentiles, whom God drove out before the face of our fathers until the days of David, |
COMMENT: For Acts 7:45 & Hebrews 4:8: “JESUS” is changed to “JOSHUA”. This agrees with the NIV, NASV, RSV. |
|
Acts 8:9 KJV: “But there was a certain man, called Simon, which beforetime in the same city used sorcery, and BEWITCHED the people of Samaria, giving out that himself was some great one:” |
NKJV: “But there was a certain man called Simon, who previously practiced sorcery in the city and ASTONISHED the people of Samaria, claiming that he was someone great,” |
COMMENT: KJV reads “BEWITCHED the people.” NKJV and NASV change “BEWITCHED” to “ASTONISHED”. NIV and RSV change “BEWITCHED” to “AMAZED”. |
|
Acts 8:37 KJV: “And Philip said, If thou believest with all thine heart, thou mayest. And he answered and said, I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God.” |
NKJV: “Then Philip said, “If you believe with all your heart, you may.” And he answered and said, “I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God.”” |
COMMENT: NKJV Footnotes cite “NU-Text and M-Text omit this verse. It is found in Western texts, including the Latin tradition.” |
|
Acts 12:4 KJV: “And when he had apprehended him, he put [him] in prison, and delivered [him] to four quaternions of soldiers to keep him; intending after EASTER to bring him forth to the people.” |
NKJV: “So when he had arrested him, he put him in prison, and delivered him to four squads of soldiers to keep him, intending to bring him before the people after PASSOVER.” |
COMMENT: In this verse the PASSOVER had already finished, so to say ‘after EASTER’ (which is a pagan festival), which commenced after the passover period, is the correct presentation of a time period, otherwise he would have said, ‘in the time now after the PASSOVER’. See https://www.chick.com/reading/books/158/158_02.asp for a full explanation. |

Acts 15:34 KJV: “Notwithstanding it pleased Silas to abide there still.” |

Acts 17:22 KJV: “Then Paul stood in the midst of Mars’ hill, and said, Ye men of Athens, I perceive that in all things ye are TOO SUPERSTITIOUS.” |
NKJV: “Then Paul stood in the midst of the Areopagus and said, Men of Athens, I perceive that in all things you are VERY RELIGIOUS;” |
COMMENT: Come on! Being VERY RELIGIOUS and TOO SUPERSTITIOUS are entirely different! |
|
Acts 17:29 KJV: “Forasmuch then as we are the offspring of God, we ought not to think that the GODHEAD is like unto gold, or silver, or stone, graven by art and man’s device.” |
NKJV: “Therefore, since we are the offspring of God, we ought not to think that the DIVINE NATURE is like gold or silver or stone, something shaped by art and man’s devising.” |
COMMENT: This REALLY shows their sympathy with the satanic New Age Movement – BELIEVE IT OR NOT the New Age NKJV changes “GODHEAD” to “DIVINE NATURE”! (ditto NIV, NASV) |
|
Acts 24:6-8 KJV: “6 Who also hath gone about to profane the temple: whom we took, AND WOULD HAVE JUDGED ACCORDING TO OUR LAW. 7 BUT THE CHIEF CAPTAIN LYSIAS CAME [UPON US], AND WITH GREAT VIOLENCE TOOK [HIM] AWAY OUT OF OUR HANDS, 8 COMMANDING HIS ACCUSERS TO COME UNTO THEE: by examining of whom thyself mayest take knowledge of all these things, whereof we accuse him.” |
NKJV: “6 He even tried to profane the temple, and we seized him, AND WANTED TO JUDGE HIM ACCORDING TO OUR LAW. 7 BUT THE COMMANDER LYSIAS CAME BY AND WITH GREAT VIOLENCE TOOK HIM OUT OF OUR HANDS, 8 COMMANDING HIS ACCUSERS TO COME TO YOU. By examining him yourself you may ascertain all these things of which we accuse him.” |
COMMENT: NKJV Footnotes cite “NU-Text ends the sentence here {after him,} and omits the rest of verse 6, all of verse 7, and the first clause of verse 8.” |
|
Acts 28:29 KJV: “And when he had said these words, the Jews departed, and had great REASONING among themselves.” |
NKJV: “And when he had said these words, the Jews departed and had a great DISPUTE among themselves.” |
COMMENT: The NKJV Footnotes cite “NU-Text omits this verse.” |
|
Romans 1:25 KJV: “Who CHANGED the truth of God INTO A lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen.” |
NKJV: “who EXCHANGED the truth of God FOR THE lie, and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever. Amen.” |
Since the NKJV has “CHANGED the truth of God INTO A lie”, it has changed Romans 1:25 to read “EXCHANGED the truth of God FOR THE lie”. As nouns, the difference between EXCHANGE and CHANGE is that EXCHANGE is an act of exchanging or trading while CHANGE is (countable) the process of becoming different. As verbs, the difference between EXCHANGE and CHANGE is that exchange is to trade or barter while CHANGE is to become something different. This reading matches the readings of the new perversions. So how say ye it’s a King James Bible? Agrees with NASV, NIV. |
|
Romans 4:25 KJV: “Who was DELIVERED FOR our OFFENCES, and WAS RAISED AGAIN for our justification.” |
NKJV: “who was PUT TO DEATH FOR our TRESPASSES and RAISED for our justification. |
COMMENT: The NKJV removes the resurrection event by the “RAISED” reference occurring BEFORE being “PUT TO DEATH” The NKJV agrees with the corrupt Alexandrian NASV version. |
|
Romans 6:22 KJV: “But now being made free from sin, and become SERVANTS TO GOD, ye have your fruit unto holiness, and the end everlasting life.” |
NKJV: “But now having been set free from sin, and having become SLAVES OF GOD, you have your fruit to holiness, and the end, everlasting life.” |
COMMENT: One of the most absurd changes ever made is changing the word “SERVANT[S]” to “SLAVE[S]”!
The NKJV in Romans 6:22, reads: “But now having been set FREE from sin, and having become SLAVES OF GOD. . .” |
|
Romans 16:24 KJV: “The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ [be] with you all. Amen.” |
NKJV: “The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen.” |
COMMENT: The NKJV Footnotes cite “NU-Text omits this verse.” |
|
1 Corinthians 1:18 KJV: “For the PREACHING OF THE CROSS is to them that PERISH foolishness; but unto us WHICH ARE SAVED it is the power of God.” |
NKJV: “For the MESSAGE OF THE CROSS IS FOOLISHNESS to those who ARE PERISHING, but to us WHO ARE BEING SAVED it is the power of God.” |
COMMENT: WHO ARE BEING SAVED – This teaches the Roman Catholic lie that salvation is a process. It agrees with the NIV, NASV, NASU, RSV, Catholic NAB, etc.. |
There are two errors in this verse. The first part claims that MESSAGE OF THE CROSS IS FOOLISHNESS, whereas the KJV speaks about the METHOD, PREACHING, BEING FOOLISH, not the MESSAGE. The second part is promoting works based salvation. Are we SAVED, or BEING SAVED? This unnecessary change corrupts the doctrine of salvation and conforms to the heretics who teach that salvation is a process. |
|
1 Corinthians 1:21 KJV: “For after that in the wisdom of God the world by wisdom knew not God, it pleased God by the FOOLISHNESS OF PREACHING to save them that believe.” |
NKJV: “For since, in the wisdom of God, the world through wisdom did not know God, it pleased God through the FOOLISHNESS OF THE MESSAGE PREACHED to save those who believe.” |
COMMENT: Here the text changes from “FOOLISHNESS OF PREACHING” to “FOOLISHNESS OF THE MESSAGE PREACHED”. This agrees with the NIV, NASV, RSV, NRSV. There’s nothing FOOLISH about the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Unless you’re not saved! 1 Cor. 1:18 says: “For the PREACHING OF THE CROSS is to them that PERISH foolishness . . .” I wonder where that leaves the translators of the NKJV, NIV, NASV, RSV, NRSV? |
|
1 Corinthians 1:22 KJV: “For the Jews REQUIRE a sign, and the Greeks seek after wisdom:” |
NKJV: “For Jews REQUEST a sign, and Greeks seek after wisdom;” |
COMMENT: The Jews “REQUIRE” a sign, according to 1 Corinthians 1:22 (and according to Jesus Christ – John 4:48: Then said Jesus unto him, Except ye see signs and wonders, ye will not believe.), but the NKJV says they only “REQUEST” a sign. |
They didn’t “REQUEST” one when signs first appeared in Exodus 4, and there are numerous places throughout the Bible where God gives Israel signs when they haven’t REQUESTED anything (Exodus 4, Exodus 31:13, Numbers 26:10, 1 Samuel 2:34, Isaiah 7:10-14, Luke 2:12, etc.). They “REQUIRE” a sign, because signs are a part of their national heritage. |
|
1 Corinthians 7:22 KJV: “For he that is called in the Lord, [being] a servant, is the Lord’s freeman: likewise also he that is called, [being] free, is CHRIST’S SERVANT.” |
NKJV: “For he who is called in the Lord while a slave is the Lord’s freedman. Likewise he who is called while free is CHRIST’S SLAVE.” |
COMMENT: How nice! God’s Word in the KJV version tells us that the Christian is a SERVANT of CHRIST. But the NKJV removes that blessing by telling us that the Christian is now demoted – he is only a mere SLAVE of CHRIST. Talk about a contradiction! John 8:36 says, “If the Son therefore shall make you FREE, YE SHALL BE FREE INDEED.” But isn’t a Christian supposed to serve? Yes, in LOVE. NOT as a SLAVE! Galatians 5:13 explains it, perfectly: “For, brethren, ye have been called unto LIBERTY;(not SLAVERY!) only use not LIBERTY for an occasion to the flesh, but BY LOVE SERVE one another.” |
|
1 Corinthians 15:55 KJV: “O death, where [is] THY sting? O GRAVE, where [is] thy victory?” |
NKJV: “O Death, where is YOUR sting? O HADES, where is your victory? |
COMMENT: As we said at the beginning of this document: |
Webster’s New Collegiate Dictionary defines HADES: “the underground abode of the dead in Greek MYTHOLOGY”. |
By making it “much clearer” – they turn your Bible into MYTHOLOGY! |
Not only that, HADES is not always a place of torment or terror! The Assyrian HADES is an abode of blessedness with silver skies called “Happy Fields”. In the satanic New Age Movement, HADES is an intermediate state of purification! |
Then the NKJV decides that maybe the “GRAVE” should be “HADES”! So the NKJV makes 1 Corinthians 15:55 “much clearer” by changing “GRAVE” to “HADES”! “. . . O HADES, where is your victory?” Clear as mud. . . |

2 Corinthians 2:15 KJV: “For we are unto God a sweet savour of Christ, in them that are saved, and in them THAT PERISH:” |
NKJV: “For we are to God the fragrance of Christ among those WHO ARE BEING SAVED and among those WHO ARE PERISHING.” |
COMMENT: WHO ARE BEING SAVED – Again, this teaches the Roman Catholic lie that salvation is a process. It agrees with the NIV, NASV, NASU, RSV, Catholic NAB, etc.. |
|
2 Corinthians 2:17 KJV: “For we are not as many, which CORRUPT the Word of God …” |
NKJV: “For we are not, as SO many, PEDDLING the Word of God …” |
COMMENT: 2 Corinthians 2:17: With all the “CORRUPTIONS” in the NKJV, you’d expect 2 Corinthians 2:17 to change. IT DOES! They change, “For we not as many which CORRUPT the word of God” to “For we are not, as SO many, PEDDLING the word of God”. This agrees with the corrupt Alexandrian versions – NIV, NASV, NRSV, RSV. |
Is there any great difference between PEDDLING (selling, or making a gain of) the Word of God and ‘CORRUPTING (adulterating) it? Of course there is, and one does not have to be a Greek scholar to decide which word is correct. When this warning was given in the 1st Century, was there any way for people to PEDDLE (make a gain of) God’s Word? Of course not — they were suffering for it. The warning clearly refers to corrupting God’s Word, something that was common then as it is now. Only in our day has it ever been possible to PEDDLE (make a gain of) the Bible. With its huge profits from the sale of many different Bible versions, the Thomas Nelson Publishers has and continues to both CORRUPT and PEDDLE with God’s Word. |
So, CORRUPT and PEDDLING are very different. When ‘modern’ versions try and hide from the truth they are ‘CORRUPTING’ the Word of God. |
According to the NKJV, no one would stoop so low as to “CORRUPT” God’s word. No, they just “PEDDLE” it. |
|
2 Corinthians 10:5 KJV: “CASTING DOWN IMAGINATIONS, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every THOUGHT to the obedience of Christ;” |
NKJV: “CASTING DOWN ARGUMENTS and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every THOUGHT into captivity to the obedience of Christ,” |
COMMENT: In 2 Corinthians 10:5 the KJV reads “CASTING DOWN IMAGINATIONS”, but the NKJV reads “CASTING DOWN ARGUMENTS”. The word “THOUGHT”, which occurs later in the verse, matches “IMAGINATIONS”, but is changed in the NKJV to match “ARGUMENTS”; this change weakens the verse. Agrees with the NIV, RSV. |
|
Galatians 2:20 KJV: “I AM CRUCIFIED with Christ: NEVERTHELESS I LIVE; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.” |
NKJV: “I HAVE BEEN CRUCIFIED with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me.” |
COMMENT: KJV: “I AM CRUCIFIED” whereas NKJV: “I HAVE BEEN CRUCIFIED”. The NKJV is saying their CRUCIFIXION is over! Not true. The believers’ CRUCIFIXION is an ongoing, PRESENT TENSE, transaction. |
The NKJV completely omits the phrase “NEVERTHELESS I LIVE”, rejecting the KJV / Textus Receptus text. |
|
Galatians 3:16: See Genesis 13:15 notes. |
|
Ephesians 5:1 KJV: “Be YE therefore FOLLOWERS of God, as dear children;” |
NKJV: “Therefore be IMITATORS of God as dear children.” |
COMMENT: Only Satan tries to IMITATE God as Satan wants to be worshipped AS God. Born again believers cannot IMITATE God. We can’t rule the universe. We can only follow God. Remember Jesus DID NOT tell his “fishers of men” to IMITATE Him. Jesus said in Matthew 4:19: “And he saith unto them, FOLLOW ME, and I will make you fishers of men.”. |
|
Philippians 2:6 KJV: “Who, being in the form of God, THOUGHT IT NOT ROBBERY to be equal with God:” |
NKJV: “who, being in the form of God, DID NOT CONSIDER IT ROBBERY to be equal with God,” |
COMMENT: The NKJV changes “THOUGHT IT NOT ROBBERY” to be equal with God to “DID NOT CONSIDER IT ROBBERY to be equal with God. This CONSIDERATION implies that there is something to be grasped and, as such, robs Jesus Christ of His Deity. The NKJV agrees with the corrupt Alexandrian versions – NIV, NASV, RSV. |
|
Philippians 3:8 KJV: “Yea doubtless, and I count all things [but] loss for the excellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord: for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and do count them [but] DUNG, that I may win Christ,” |
NKJV: “Yet indeed I also count all things loss for the excellence of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord, for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and count them as RUBBISH, that I may gain Christ” |
COMMENT: I have “RUBBISH” on the top of my office desk, but I don’t want “DUNG” there! |
|
Colossians 3:2 KJV: “Set your AFFECTION on things above, not on things on the earth.” |
NKJV: “Set your MIND on things above, not on things on the earth.” |
COMMENT: The NKJV again follows the corrupt Alexandrian versions – NIV, NASV, RSV by changing “AFFECTION” to “MIND.” |
|
1 Thessalonians 5:22 KJV: “ABSTAIN FROM ALL APPEARANCE OF EVIL.” |
NKJV: “ABSTAIN FROM EVERY FORM OF EVIL.” |
COMMENT: The NKJV says we should ABSTAIN FROM EVERY FORM (or kind) OF EVIL. With this rendering, the thing has to be evil itself and not just have the “APPEARANCE OF EVIL”. The NKJV’s “FORM” limits it to that which is actually evil, whereas the KJV reading of “APPEARANCE” refers to THAT WHICH MAY NOT BE EVIL IN ITSELF, but it can APPEAR TO BE SO to others and cause them to stumble in some way. The NKJV does not capture BOTH possibilities and the meaning of the NKJV and KJV are not synonymous here. Agrees with the NASV, RSV. |
|
1 Timothy 3:16 KJV: “And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: GOD was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory.” |
NKJV: “And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: GOD was manifested in the flesh, Justified in the Spirit, Seen by angels, Preached among the Gentiles, Believed on in the world, Received up in glory.” |
COMMENT: The NKJV footnote “deletes” the proof text for the Incarnation explicitly stating that God became a man like the NIV, ESV, and NASV by citing “NU-Text reads Who” after the word GOD. |
|
1 Timothy 6:5 KJV: “PERVERSE DISPUTINGS of men of corrupt minds, and destitute of the truth, supposing that GAIN IS GODLINESS: from such withdraw thyself.” |
NKJV: “USELESS WRANGLINGS of men of corrupt minds and destitute of the truth, who suppose that GODLINESS IS A MEANS OF GAIN. From such withdraw yourself.” |
COMMENT: The NKJV changes “GAIN IS GODLINESS” to “GODLINESS IS A MEANS OF GAIN”. There are NO Greek texts with “A MEANS OF” in them! Where, oh where, did they come from? Care to take a wild guess? YOU HAVE GOT IT – the corrupt Alexandrian versions – NIV, NASV, RSV, and NRSV! |
|
1 Timothy 6:10 KJV: “For the love of money is THE ROOT of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.” |
NKJV: “For the love of money is A ROOT of all kinds of evil, for which some have strayed from the faith in their greediness, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.” |
COMMENT: There is a big difference between the NKJV’s “A ROOT” and the correct KJV reading of “THE ROOT”. |
|
2 Timothy 2:15 KJV: “STUDY to show thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.” |
NKJV: “BE DILIGENT to present yourself approved to God, a worker who does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.” |
COMMENT: The NKJV gives us no command to “STUDY” God’s word; apparently we only need to “BE DILIGENT” which means to “BE CAREFUL”. |
CAREFUL? How are we to BE CAREFUL? Perhaps it means not to place any secular book on top of the Bible! |
The Spirit of Prophecy tells us to go further, to [CAREFULLY or] “DILIGENTLY STUDY the Scriptures” and “Let us DILIGENTLY STUDY God’s Word, that we may proclaim with power the message that is to be given in these last days.” |
The NKJV gives us no command to “STUDY” God’s word. Here the NKJV (like the NIV, NASV, RSV, NRSV) removes that “obsolete” word – “STUDY”! – NIV and RSV change “STUDY” to “DO YOUR BEST.” The only time in the Bible when you’re told to “STUDY” your Bible. AND THEY DELETE IT! Why don’t they want you to “STUDY” your Bible? Maybe they don’t want you to look too close – you might find out what they’ve ACTUALLY done to your Bible! The “real” KJV [God’s Word] is the only English Bible in the world that instructs you to “STUDY” your Bible! |
|
Titus 3:10 KJV: “A man that is AN HERETIC after the first and second admonition reject;” |
NKJV: “Reject A DIVISIVE MAN after the first and second admonition,” |
COMMENT: The KJV tells us to reject “AN HERETIC” whereas the NKJV tells us to reject “A DIVISIVE MAN”. How nice! Now the Alexandrians and Ecumenicals have justification for REJECTING anyone they wish to label as “DIVISIVE MEN”. Agrees with the NIV. |
|
Hebrews 3:16 KJV: “For SOME, when they had heard did provoke: HOWBEIT NOT ALL that came out of Egypt by Moses.” |
NKJV: “For who having heard rebelled? Indeed, WAS IT NOT ALL who came out of Egypt led by Moses?” |
COMMENT: The KJV clearly says that “SOME” i.e. most of the older generation of Israel, “HOWBEIT NOT ALL” meaning Joshua and Caleb, “did provoke.” The NKJV says that EVERYONE who came out of Egypt REBELLED. This is clearly mistranslated and ruins the basic Old Testament historical narrative. The NKJV says something directly contrary to the KJV and to the Old Testament. The Bible plainly says that not all of the Israelites rebelled against God, but the NKJV creates a contradiction. |
The NKJV also lines up with the (NWT) Jehovah’s Witness Perversion in dealing with the above. |
|
Hebrews 4:8 KJV: “For if JESUS had given them rest, then would he not afterward have spoken of another day.” |
NKJV: “For if JOSHUA had given them rest, then He would not afterward have spoken of another day.” |
COMMENT: For Hebrews 4:8 & Acts 7:45: “JESUS” is changed to “JOSHUA”. This agrees with the NIV, NASV, RSV. |
|
GENERAL COMMENT: In the NKJV the term “NEW TESTAMENT”, is completely omitted. |
It is interesting to note that Hebrews 9:15-20 in the NKJV lines up with the New World Translation (Jehovah’s Witnesses Bible). |
|
DOCTRINAL PROBLEMS DEALING WITH SALVATION |
The NKJV confuses people about salvation. In Hebrews 10:14 it replaces “ARE SANCTIFIED” with “ARE BEING SANCTIFIED”, and it replaces “ARE SAVED” with “ARE BEING SAVED.” |
Hebrews 10:14 KJV: “For by one offering he hath perfected for ever them that are sanctified.” |
NKJV: “For by one offering He has perfected forever, those WHO ARE BEING sanctified.” |
COMMENT: This unnecessary change in the NKJV conforms to heretical gospels, such as that taught by Rome, which claim that salvation is a sacramental process. The NKJV completely destroys the beauty and power of this verse, that through the once-for-all sacrifice of Jesus Christ the believer is perfected and sanctified forever. This verse properly translated, as in the KJV, defeats false views of salvation. The NKJV, on the other hand, creates confusion. If Christ’s offering gives eternal perfection, as the first half of the verse claims, why does the rest of the verse say that we are BEING saved? It is confusion and error. |
AND we know that God is not the Author of confusion. (1 Corinthians 14:33: For God is not [the author] of confusion, but of peace, as in all churches of the saints.) |
The NKJV teaches the Roman Catholic lie that salvation is a process. That salvation is by works – that you still need your priest – and that wafer – and to partake in the 7 sacraments of the Catholic Church. Naturally, this agrees with the NIV, NASV, NASU, RSV, Catholic NAB, etc.. |
|
1 John 5:13 KJV: “These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye MAY BELIEVE on the name of the Son of God.” |
NKJV: “These things I have written to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, that you may know that you have eternal life, and that you MAY CONTINUE TO BELIEVE in the name of the Son of God.” |
COMMENT: The words “MAY BELIEVE” have been replaced with “MAY CONTINUE TO BELIEVE”. They add “CONTINUE TO” without any Greek text whatsoever! Not even the perverted NIV, NASV, NRSV and RSV go that far! A cruel, subtle (Genesis 3:1: “Now the serpent was more subtle than any beast of the field which the LORD God had made. And he said unto the woman, Yea, hath God said, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden?”) attack on the believer’s eternal security! |
|
Jude 15 KJV: “To execute judgment upon all, and to convince all that are ungodly among them of all their ungodly deeds which they have ungodly committed, and of all their HARD [SPEECHES] which ungodly sinners have spoken against him.” |
NKJV: “to execute judgment on all, to convict all who are ungodly among them of all their ungodly deeds which they have committed in an ungodly way, and of all the HARSH THINGS which ungodly sinners have spoken against Him.” |
COMMENT: There is a difference between HARD [SPEECHES] and HARSH THINGS. |
|
Jude 19 KJV: “These be they who SEPARATE THEMSELVES, sensual, having not the Spirit.” |
NKJV: “These are sensual persons, who CAUSE DIVISIONS, not having the Spirit.” |
The KJV has SEPARATE THEMSELVES, whereas the NKJV has CAUSE DIVISIONS. The clear reading of the Textus Receptus is destroyed by the NKJV. The Westcott & Hort text does not have “THEMSELVES” and modern versions, the NASV, NIV etc. follow suit, with: “THESE MEN WHO DIVIDE YOU”. The “YOU” is not found in any text, and the whole meaning is changed. In the KJV reading it is speaking of those who SEPARATE THEMSELVES from the others as a special class with superior knowledge, while the NIV says they DIVIDE YOU, the Christians, which is not the same meaning. The NKJV follows the modern corruptions and clearly departs from the KJV / Textus Receptus reading here. |
|
Revelation 2:13: KJV: “I know thy works and where thou dwellest, [even] where SATAN’S SEAT [is]: and thou holdest fast my name, and hast not denied my faith, even in those days wherein Antipas [was] my faithful martyr, who was slain among you, where Satan dwelleth.” |
NKJV: “I know your works, and where you dwell, where SATAN’S THRONE is. And you hold fast to My name, and did not deny My faith even in the days in which Antipas was My faithful martyr, who was killed among you, where Satan dwells.” |
COMMENT: SATAN’S SEAT is changed to SATAN’S THRONE. In verse 2:12 we read that this was written “to the angel of the church in Pergamos”; it therefore related to the era from Constantine’s time to the great apostasy – this covered the 4th & 5th centuries & half of the 6th century. It was a time when church and politics united; and this will be repeated just before Jesus returns. “This compromise between paganism and Christianity resulted in the development of the man of sin foretold in prophecy as opposing and exalting himself above God. That gigantic system of false religion is a masterpiece of Satan’s power,–a monument of his efforts to seat himself upon the throne to rule the earth according to his will.” {4 Spirit of Prophecy 52.1}. SATAN HAS NO THRONE when Jesus returns. This agrees with the NIV, NASV, RSV, NRSV. |
|
Revelation 6:14: KJV: “And the HEAVEN departed as a scroll when it is rolled together; and every mountain and island were moved out of their places.” |
NKJV: “Then the SKY receded as a scroll when it is rolled up, and every mountain and island was moved out of its place.” |
COMMENT: “HEAVEN” is changed to “SKY”. This agrees with the NIV, NASV, RSV, NRSV. |
|
|
General Note: The NKJV text is the nearest of the popular Bible versions to the KJV Bible. While the above list relates to most of the NKJV significant changes, this listing is also applicable to all Alexandrian text Bibles – just be aware that they contain many additional errors with respect to God’s Word. |
|
|
READER: please do not forget that this listing only covers the majority of significant changes made within the NKJV Bible. |
It does not contain any of the numerous minor word changes that have also been made – for reasons of having to meet the ‘number of change’ requirements to fulfil the copyright regulation requirements, etc.. |
|
|
READER: Assuming that you have read this whole document then, by now, you should be convinced that these significant changes made within the NKJV Bible are a direct attack upon Jesus, as well as S.D.A. Doctrine and God’s Word. |
Should you not be convinced that such an attack is focused upon Jesus, then go to the Bible Verses section which lists where these changes occur and ask yourself “where would I find Jesus?” [In the Gospels]. |

False Statements about Modern Bible Translations and Versions |
|
Bill Brinkworth |
|
Revelation 22:19: “And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book.” |
|
“They make the Bible easier to understand.” Much of the King James Bible is at a 5.8 grade reading level (1) (Flesch-Kincaid Grade Level indicator). The New International Version is at 8.4 grade level; New King James is at 6.9, and the New American Standard Version is at 8.12. Besides that, it is the Holy Spirit that allows anyone to have knowledge of God’s Word, not man’s editing (I Cor. 2:14: But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know [them], because they are spiritually discerned.) Another motive is also behind “making the bible easier to understand.” That motive is to make money. If there are numerous changes, it can copyrighted, and its owner can earn money from its sales, as it is a new and different book. The King James Bible is not copyrighted, so no one makes anything by its sale! |

HOW TO KNOW THE PURE CAMBRIDGE EDITION OF THE KING JAMES BIBLE |
|
|
|
It is important to have the correct, perfect and final text of the King James Bible, since there are correctors (e.g. publishers) who have changed some aspects of King James Bible texts. |
|
The final form of the King James Bible is the Pure Cambridge Edition (circa 1900), which conforms to the following: |
|
|
|
1. “or Sheba” not “and Sheba” in Joshua 19:2 |
|
2. “sin” not “sins” in 2 Chronicles 33:19 |
|
3. “Spirit of God” not “spirit of God” in Job 33:4 |
|
4. “whom ye” not “whom he” in Jeremiah 34:16 |
|
5. “Spirit of God” not “spirit of God” in Ezekiel 11:24 |
|
6. “flieth” not “fleeth” in Nahum 3:16 |
|
7. “Spirit” not “spirit” in Matthew 4:1 |
|
8. “further” not “farther” in Matthew 26:39 |
|
9. “bewrayeth” not “betrayeth” in Matthew 26:73 |
|
10. “Spirit” not “spirit” in Mark 1:12 |
|
11. “spirit” not “Spirit” in Acts 11:28 |
|
